Centerpiece ideas on the boat

Hey Ladies,We are thinking of doing our reception on a boat: http://picasaweb.google.com/romancebyparadisuspalmareal/SunsetBoat#I am now starting to think about centerpieces... and have come up blank. The company provides centerpieces of fresh flowers (can't really choose which ones) that are pretty expensive.. Something like an extra $250 for just a few vases. I am hoping to come up with something that is easily transportable (not glass), without candles (since it will likely be windy on the boat) options.Any suggestions?

Re: Centerpiece ideas on the boat

 • How about a bucket with sand and starfish on top - something like a morph between the centerpieces from the shower posted earlier this week but on the inside?  Or - you could also get some silk flowers to imbed in the sand bucket?

 • oooh what a pretty boat! We're doing our reception on a boat too, but ours isn't nearly as nice as that one....now I'm jealous! :) What I'm doing for CP's is I got some tin containers at Joann's..they are long and rectangular and am filling them w/ fake flowers. That way I can ship them ahead of time and don't have to worry about breakage. I'm also getting some BlumeBoxes to put our bouquets in so those will be used as decoration also.
 • you could do flameless candles if it's windy... I used these for my shower centerpieces...I also like the sand bucket idea...Or to keep with your search party theme, you could do treasure chests and find some cute wooden chests you could fill w/ flowers and starfish or something. HTH
 • I'll try to put my creative hat on and think about it for you... maybe I can buy some of your supplies off of you afterwards and Flori can just hold them there for me until June?!?! LOL... I really will try to come up with something. But I do love the treasure chest idea in pp!!!  You could get some netting and use starfish and shells.  Did you ask Flori about bringing on your own centerpieces and how they'll get set up beforehand?
 • Thanks ladies, you are all so creative! I really like the buckets idea and the treasure boxes (although i already have a treasure chest as our guest book). Flameless candles are also an option and a great way to add some lights!Hmm so many choices!Danielle - i spoke to Flori, and she said she can set up decorations for free. We'll meet 3 days before the party to pay the balance, and at that time we will give her our decorations. I am already thinking of adding lanterns to add some colour (white, orange and green).
