Everyone walking down the aisle to one song, is that okay?

I'm not sure if this would flow right, I want to use one song for everyone to walk down the aisle to. It's a pretty long song about 5 mins, Dixie Chicks- Lullaby. It's starts pretty slow so I figured our bridal party could walk down the aisle,  then the song gets more instrumental and that's when I would walk down the aisle.  Would do you girls think?  What are you doing? What song are you girls walking down the aisle to?I'd love to know :o) Thanks,Natalie

  • OMG I just listened to that on youtube... SUCH a good one. I seriously started getting teary.... you could always try to shorten it with an editor. Im walking down to a steel drum player. I think our first song/dance will be "Someone like you" by Van Morrison... I havent asked FI yet tho. lol.
  • I just listened to it on You Tube too! I love it! If we dont go down the aisle to the steel drums playing, I may use the music w/o the lyrics too! I really like it!Thanks!
  • I'm walking down the isle with the song from Kenny Lattimore "For You" as if I was saying those words to him. But I don't know what to do about  the bridal party I don't think it'll look nice if they walk down to that song but then again the song is a good 3mins long and I don't think it'll take me 3mins to get to him. Especially since I've been waiting so long anyways (jk) :-P

  • My MOH did this in June at her wedding.  They used the instrumental of Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars and there is a point in the music where it gets louder/more powerful, and that is when she came down. I think it worked great!

  • The plan right now is:FI & GM walk in to something, don't know yetBM : Is This Love by Bob Marley (may change, I'm really liking I've Got a Feeling by BEP)Me: traditional wedding marchAll of these will *hopefully* be performed on acoustic guitar, and instrumental only, by one of my friends who is coming. If it turns out he can't bring his guitar then we may (1) record the music and play it there, (2) scrap this plan and start over.
  • I want to do one song as well! Mine is "Everything" by Lifehouse. The end makes me cry everytime, it will be beautiful when I finally get to the alter. My aisle is not actually much of an aisle because it is a half circle. I have 6 bridesmaids, so it will take awhile I think for all of us to make it to the alter above the waterfall. I'm not having a flower girl or ring bearer because it is an adult only wedding. If I have the bridesmaids scatter rose petals, maybe they will take longer.I think my song is over 5 minutes though. I think that it can fade in & out though and sound nice. The beginning is also slow and then the instrumental picks up for my walk.

  • Thanks for all the great input!! Yea that song is very touching and I think it reflects fi and I.  When I first heard it I got teary eyed too :o) I think I'll try to get the song edited so it flows better for us to walk down the aisle.  Thanks, Natalie
