A brand new PRONOVIAS Ranya dress! I am sooooo excited.We went to a $499 dollar sale at one of the boutiques in town, and literally EVERY dress was $499. Even my gorgeous Pronovias, 100% duponi silk dress! The style is nothing like i thought i wanted, but looked gorgeous when i put it on. My knees buckled, my heart pounded and i thought i was going to faint (also probably due to hunger). In all the craziness, i totally forgot to take a picture of me in it! I'll have to take some when FI is not around.I am a 100% rational person, and need to sleep on any decision before its made and was a nervous wreck because i knew i had to make the decision right away. Wow!  It is gorgeous!  So classy.  I'm taking my dress in to my seamstress in about two weeks and our wedding is in late October.  But I don't know if that short timing would work if you are having alterations done at the dress shop - I'm sure they would need more time.

Wow!  It's beautiful and congrats on a great deal.  I was in the same boat - had my dress in hand 11 months ahead of time. The seamstress told me to wait until 2 -3 months before the wedding to start alterations and I just went for my first fitting last Saturday.

It is freaking gorgeous!  I loved this dress when I saw it in a bridal magazine!  I was actually upset that I already had a dress when I saw this one.  I wouldn't do alterations until about a month before.

Thanks ladies - i might just get it dry cleaned, and then leave it alone until 2-3 months before the wedding (my weight is pretty stable, so i don't think i would drastically change in that time frame).One more question - how did you ladies pick out your veil? I was too exhausted to think about it yesterday.. but now im thinking i might have trouble matching the colour (because it's not white white... its a slightly softer white which i think would be harder to match). Do i bring in my dress to the stores? There must be a better way to do this

As far as the veil, it's really not as hard as you would think.  My dress is antique white (pretty dark as far as wedding dresses go).  I thought it would be really difficult to "match" it but the sales lady just recommended a ivory veil.  She said anything darker just takes attention away from the dress.  Remember it's translucent.

Beautiful!!!!!!!!!! I got my dress, veil, and shoes all at the same place. You still have plenty of time to find a veil - just decide what style you want then you can start to match the color :-) And you totally need to wait for alterations. I had bridal pics taken on Aug 9th - so I had to have the dress finished by then. Went to my mom's last week... the dress is a tent. I have to have an emergency fitting next week. Awesome that I lost weight - but stressing about my dress fitting!! haha

OH MY GOD!!! It's stunning and beautiful! I remember feeling those dresses - the silk is amazing!! Congratulations on finding the ONE Iris!! I dont think finding a veil will be that hard either - but I would bring in your dress - just in case YAYYYY!!!

Haha - thanks ladies! I knew finding i veil is not as difficult as i imagined it to be On my receipt, the original price of the dress is $1900 CAD (so probably around $1700 US). I think it's a fairly accuarte price, as i've seen dresses made out of silk costing this much. So exciting

That's a gorgeous dress!!  You need to take some pics asap so we can see how great you look in it! As for the alterations question, I think it depends on your seamstress.  That lady that does all of my alterations works out of her home, but has a pretty steady business.  My plan is to take my dress for an initial look over so she can tell me how close to the wedding I can bring it in.  I still have 6 months to go and plan on losing weight, so I understand how hard it is to time it right.GL!

Yea i was really lucky that it had no major stains or marks at all. Just the very bottom looks a little darker (probably from being dragged on the floor a few times) but its overall very clean.You are right, i should probably clean it after i get it altered. I am a little obsessed though.. lol. I can't believe i have to wait 9 months to wear it!
