Registry Question...

So I wondered if anyone is doing a honeymoon registry instead of a traditional registry? FI and I are both in our early 30's and have lived together for about 6 years so we don't really need any household type stuff (we're still trying to pare it down from back when we moved in together!). Anyway, I opted for a honeymoon registry, but now I'm feeling hesitant about telling people about it since it's a little out of the norm. Do you think a honeymoon registry was a bad way to go?

Re: Registry Question...

 • a lot of people do non-traditional registries these days, so I don't think its that big of a deal. I'm kinda opposed to a general honeymoon registry online, I think that the registries at specific airlines and hotel chains such as American Airlines and Starwood Resorts are a little bit better than honeyfund.com,that way people know what they are getting you or contributing towards but thats just my opinon...

 • I polled some of our family members to see how they would react to a honeymoon registry, and about half said they liked the idea...the other half not so much. My solution is to do a honeymoon registry plus a traditional registry. FI and I have lived together for 4 years and own our own home, so there isn't that much "stuff" we need...my solution for that was to register for bathroom fixtures, door knobs, lighting fixtures, etc at Amazon so we can do updates to the house.
 • We registered and www.thehoneymoon.com it'll only really work for my shower because our AHR is 2 1/2 months after the wedding, but it was fun to do =)
