I don't mean to b!tch, but seriously, this is a real WTF. So as some of you may know, I've been trying to find a job to start my career in this sucky economy. I'm a writer in advertising and my art director and I have been on 8 interviews so far. The Brief Backstory: I was working with a headhunter. She got me my first interview, so for that I am greatful, but she has also done some things that have really pissed me off. Her Strike 1: She said she was sending my book to 3 agencies that I later found out she never sent to. I have it in writing in an email where she said, "I sent your book to X, Y, and Z today..." but then when I asked her if she'd heard anything back from them she said never sent my book to them and never said she would. THEN she had the audacity of saying "maybe another headhunter sent your work" as a slight to me, saying I was working with people behind her back (which I wasn't.) She eventually sent my book to Agency X so I let it slide. Her Strike 2 was today. This whole time I've been working with her she keeps asking about this one agency I've been talking to since July 4. It's an agency I found on my own, interviewed with, and am close to a job with. I never give her much info because I've always been afraid she might use the info to her advantage. Well today I found out she is telling her OTHER clients (my competition) that the agency I'm close with is looking for people and that she wants to send their book over there. WTF B!tch. Do your job and get your own leads. I'm so beyond pissed right now and even more pissed that I can't call her out on it b/c advertising is an industry where everyone talks and it would just look bad on me if I said anything about it. Seriously, WTF. I'm definitely done working with her, which is fine because she only got me one interview anyway. I got myself 7 others. Sorry this is so long, ladies, but I had to get that off my chest. Thanks for letting me vent.
