Processional Music?

Ok, so after much searching I was finally able to track down an accoustic guitar player for the ceremony and cocktail hour.  He asked me what songs I wanted for the ceremony.....(insert cricket chirping)....I can't believe I have no idea!  Since it's on the beach, and it's a guitar, I don't want Cannon in D, or the Wedding March, but I have no freaking idea what to suggest to him.So, ladies, if any of you are having a musician as opposed to a DJ or using your iPod, would you please share with me your processional music?  I have one song, Over the Rainbow...I clearly need more ideas...lol.TIA!

Re: Processional Music?

  • check out Vitamin String Quartet.  You will get lots of ideas.
  • Huh... I'm surprised he doesn't have some sort of list! I think it would be cool to see if he could play "your song"... Do you guys have one? I love when non-traditional music is played at weddings... :) let me know what you decide on!
  • Hmm.  He does have playlists from other weddings - he's going to email me one.  He said he does usually play the couples song, but alas, we're losers and we don't have one...lol.I definitely want to use Over the Rainbow...hadn't thought of Wonderful World.  I'm just trying to think of options for all parts of the processional - mothers seating, bridesmaids, etc...Thanks ladies...as always!
  • Somewhere over the Rainbow...it sounds perfect by acoustic guitar. Our aisle is so short it's the only song I'm gonna play!
  • I'm sort of odd, but I plan to use an instrumental version of a Dave Matthews Band song - not sure what one yet.  He also has purely instrumental stuff too.  It's something different and most likely, I am the only one that will know what it is, but I don't care! :)
