Wedding traditions

can someone please tell me all of the wedding traditions. I know the borrowed, and blue but thats about all. I thought it was bad luck to rain on your wedding day now I am told no its good luck. and what is they saying about for every bow you break is a baby you will get? I don t know I have heard so many here lateley!

  • And it depends on the color of the bow.  If the bow is pink they'll be girls and if it's blue they'll be boys.  If it rains (or snows) on your wedding day it's good luck. Having bad weather without either rain or snow is bad luck. Cake if I remember correctly is about wealth.  People used to bring cakes for good fortune to weddings.  Then it would be passed out in bags.  The more cake they had, the wealthier they would be.Evil spirits are warded off by wearing a veil.  Bridesmaids wearing all the same dresses is supposed to confuse evil spirits.  (wow there were a lot of superstious people)And rice is for fertility.That's all I can think of right now.  It's funny how we do most of these.  It's so apart of modern weddings that we don't think twice.
