How far before your wedding date are you requesting your response cards to be sent back? Are you giving yourself more time b/c it's a DW?

    Our wedding is 12/10 and our RSVP's are due 10/16.  We did this so that our guests could RSVP and still have enough time to get their passports.

    Our wedding is January 8 and we are requesting RSVP's to be back by Oct. 31. My reasoning behind this  is because there are so many things I am waiting to plan until I know how many people are coming (menu, tables) and the favors I want have to be ordered 8 weeks in advance or I will be charged a rush fee.

    Ok, so you all convinced me to send my invitations out earlier than I originally planned.  Thanks, that's makes more sense.  Now, seeing as my wedding is Feb. 20th, I think I'm going to change the RSVP date to the end of Dec.  When should I mail them out by?  I'm concerned they might get pushed aside w/ Christmas cards.
