F/U to Computer Crash

Good and bad news. The bad news is that although the computer tech backed everything up prior to wiping my hard drive clean, most of the documents were corrupted. A virus had gotton onto my documents file ( I don't understand how it works at all ) and so what was saved were ones that was not corrupted at all. Like I said it was about 3/4 of documents lost and down the drain! Good news is that I was able to utilize an OLD template I had along with the copy of my word document of the Boarding Pass AHR Invites with all the wording and layout that I had emailed to Meghan [:)] shout out to Meghan for saving me at 11:30 last night) and was able to re-create the invites!!! Yipee!!! Made a couple of minor changes but for the most part I am happy!!!! Whew! So I spazzed out for a bit, but thanks to you ladies, I made it through the crisis...... you ladies rock! [Y] Now if only I can remember all of my darn bookmarks! :)

Re: F/U to Computer Crash

  • Thats GREAT you got your template back and there were just some minor changes but no fun you didn't get all the other files/bookmarks back!!
  • Oh Shelli, I'm so happy you got your invites back!!! Actually, after reading your post yesterday, I decided to go through all my bookmarks, delete the ones I won't be using (other venues, vendors, etc) and copy/paste all the links into a document, which I backed up on disk. It was a PITA but I know if I lost everything I would absolutely die. What kinds of things did you bookmark? Maybe some of the fabulous DW knotties will recommend their faves for you to check out - maybe you'll find some of your old sites again.
  • Yay! I'm so glad I can help. :) Now, you better go finish your invites and back them up. I really should go back up all my stuff too. I would cry if I lost my boarding pass invites and probably refuse to remake them.

  • Shelli, so glad to hear you did not have to do every thing over from scratch. I definitely would have had a melt down. Glad you are back on track! (and get some relaxation in this weekend)!
