Destination Weddings Discussions

1st Time Poster, DW @ Sandals in St. Lucia, Questions.

Hello all. :) I was super excited when I came across this board! My future hubby and I are contemplating having a destination wedding in St. Lucia. My question to Sandals brides is: What does a wedding there entail, do they work with you, or how did you go about planning it? Did you get to have your choice of wedding site, or did they pick it for you? Is there a best location in St.Lucia? Um..any info you would be willing to give would be so amazing! I'm pretty clueless about everything right now. Thank you guys so much for your help!

  • Welcome to the board! I've got a ton of info in my planning bio. They totally work w/ you, especially if you have a TA. You pick your wedding site after you get there b/c a pic can look different ifl. Feel free to ask any questions and happy planning =)

  • Hi and welcome to the board. I'm am getting married at Sandals Grande St. Lucia. I am dealing with Beach Bum vacations for my DW and they have been wonderful. They are in contact with a wedding coordinator whom I will meet once I arrive to in St. Lucia. We will then go over all the details. You get to pick out pretty much everything. If you go under the Sandals website they have pics of all the resorts and prices. I am staying in a rondoval which is so beautiful. They have 3 different Sandals resorts in St. Lucia which if you stay at one you can play at all three at no extra cost. Also, I went under Youtube and looked at different videos so I could get a real view of what it might look like at the resort. I hope we helped you some. Good luck with your planning and if you have anymore questions, just ask. We love to help here.
  • Im no help with St. Lucia, but welcome!
  • HI and welcome. I was just there in June!! It is beautiful. We stayed at the Grande. I did go to the Regency and it was nice too but the beach was MUCH better at the Grande. There are about 4-6 weddings a day at the Grande. You get your own planner down there and it seems pretty easy. I used Jennifer at VIP Vacations and she was wonderful. GL!
  • welcome i am getting married @ the regency may 2010. i working with a TA but also working  with the WC. so far everyone is very helpful
  • My fiance and I are getting married at the Sandals Regency in St Lucia in February.  Its been super easy to plan so far, most of it (location, flowers, ect) I dont decide on until I get there.  You can choose anywhere on the property I think but most common locations are the gardens, beach or gazebo.  I've also upgraded my reception to tables set up in the gardens for 3 hours with a four course meal, centerpieces, standard decorations, champaigne toast, and a bar brought out to us for $750 (10 people included).  I've heard nothing but great things about sandals wedding and I cant wait!!!!  Good Luck!
