Ladies, here it is. My last post as a non-married woman… I cannot believe a year has gone by so quickly. But people always say time flies when you’re having fun. And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for the last 14 months! When I originally thought about what I wanted for our wedding a DW never crossed my mind. But here I am! Tomorrow I will be flying to Miami to meet up with our sailing guests and on Monday I will be onboard a cruise ship marrying my soul mate. Seriously, how awesome is that?! This trip will be a lot of firsts for FI and me since we’ve never cruised or even been to Miami, but the greatest part is that I get to experience these things with the man I love. Through this process I learned that no matter who attends the wedding or doesn’t, I will still be married at the end of the day. There have been several moments I’ve been brought to tears but you ladies have always been there for me. And from a person who doesn’t have a lot of close friends in their offline life it means a lot. Although I never had the opportunity to meet any of you knotties at a GTG I am much closer to a lot of you than people I see on a regular basis. For those of you just joining the best board on TK I encourage you to take a day or two and scroll through bios. You will be amazed at the ideas some of these knotties have come up with. I haven’t had a chance to get to know a lot of you newbies but I know you are in good hands. And I hope you have an amazing planning experience on this board. I wouldn’t have thought about doing a cruise wedding if it wasn’t for those that had gone before me. Without TK I never would have thought to do a lot of things - a sand ceremony, OOT bags, a TTD session. And although our engagement is nearing its’ end I will never forget the people who helped me pull this off. I cannot tell you enough how much the DW board has meant to me. I want give a special thanks to a few knotties - Normailed (Future.Mrs.H), Katers1279, Lisa (Lisa7), Lisa (SgtEriksWife), Eleise (Eleise96), Tracy (bride_from_the_burgh), Samantha, Courtney (Courtneyg34), Marelina (stlucia_wife), Katie (kreeves42), Natalie (Soon2bMrsNaylor), Alison (AlaskanAlison), Danielle (DanielleB1978), Alison (alisonpilgrim610), Tracy (vateacher), Teresa (CanadianBride84), Christina (Bigwuhead), Ashley (Ashleysred), Sarah (Mrs.G_09), Kristine (kristinemarie7), Bridget (bjohnson45760), Cristina (DreamsBride411), Maggie (Mags82), Tara (taramartin), and Ashley (Cruisebride1208). I know I am missing some of you but a lot of you on the board have inspired me in some way or another. I figure I’ll end this post with some “engagement advice”. If you are thinking about taking engagement pictures – Do It! That was one of the best decisions we made during our engagement. We took ours 2 months from our wedding. And honestly I’m happy we took them so late. I am 20 lbs thinner now than I was a year ago. Personalization adds a special touch to everything. I created all of the paper products used in our wedding. Yes it was time consuming but it was worth it when you hear your guests tell you how unique and creative they are. That is always something your guests will remember. And if you need help with something ask a knottie! There is so much talent and creativity on this board you will be amazed at how quickly people are willing to help. And don’t sweat the small stuff. You will be the only person noticing if the color isn’t just right or if something turned out the wrong shade. For those of you that are soon to follow, enjoy the moments you have left because they will be gone before you know it. And to those just starting your planning congrats on your engagement and happy wedding planning! See ya on the Flip Side!
