Hi, I am recently engaged and my Fiance and I have decided on a Destination Wedding. We're getting married in January of 2011. I know it's quite a bit away but I am excited to get started in all of the planning. I was told this is the perfect place to get help from. Anyone have ideas for us? We would like to have it somewhere in California since both sets of parents currently live there. We currently live in Maine due to my fiance's job. Our family will be flying in from all over the US.

    Congrats and Welcome to the Board! You will get a tremendous amount of support from everyone here on this board!! What part of California were you thinking of? I'm in the Central Valley and I know there are many others here who are from Southern Cali and would be more than willing give you some ideas!! And, it's never too early to start planning! Before you know it, the time will have flown by!!! Enjoy it while you can!!! :)

    Congrats on your engagement and welcome! The only help I am in terms of California is that I had to fly over it to get to Hawaii. lol Sorry, but I know there are quite a few Cali knotties here who might be able to throw ideas your way. Weekends tend to be slower so make sure you check back towards the beginning of the week. And don't worry about a long engagement - mine will be a little over 2 years, but it gives me more time to space out my projects.... and paychecks. lol

    Welcome & Congrats! I'm new to the board also and we're planning our DW for February 2011 so we'll be working along a similar timeline!  We're headed to the Carribbean (most likely Bahamas) for our special day but I'm sure there are tons of Knotties on here who can help with CA resources.  Enjoy!
