Jon and Kate Plus 8

What do you girls think about Jon pulling the plug on the show?I think it's a good idea to get these kids off the spotlight.  They've been on t.v. since they were very little and now they're becoming aware of their surroundings.  Why would any parent want their kids to hear about their nasty divorce or what mom and dad are saying about each other?  I think it's time these kids go back to living a normal more secluded life.

I thought it was just going to be Kate plus 8 now. Are they stopping the show completely? That would be best for the kids, but I do like watching it every now and again

The problem is that this is "normal" for the kids. I think with everything going on with their parents divorcing, it would be even more traumatizing for them if all of a sudden these people (camera, tv people) they have known their whole lives were just *poof* gone. I think keeping the show going is the lesser of two evils to be honest. It's not the most ideal though.Also I think Jon's decision to try and pull the plug and stop the divorce is so incredibly vapid. He went on & on saying the show wasn't hurting his kids and they loved it, and now that TLC wants to take his name off the show he's all "concerned dad"? I don't buy it for one second. How convenient for him that he's all concerned when his $$ and "fame" may soon be fading.It's really sad because I think the show started out really well and with best intentions. Plus the public wanted to know what it was like to be in a family like theirs. We all wanted the access, but it's gotten out of control and it's like... how do you stop it without hurting the kids at this point?

I agree with everything Sarah said. It would be really hard if all the cameras just disappeared. I heard that the "Kate + 8" show is going to be half about the kids, and half about Kate's journey as a single mother. Because that resonates with the TLC viewers more than Jon's Ed Hardy shopping sprees. (yuck) I do know that they are planning on taking some of the focus off the kids - which is good - because they are getting older, going to school, etc...

From what I understood from reading msnbc, they said Jon has to give permisson for the kids to be one the show.  So I don't know if Kate plus 8 still happen.  I don't really care what goes on in Kate's life or Jon's, personally I think they're both sorry people but the kids need to be put first, none of this is their fault.
