GOOD/ BAD/UGLY- Breezes Runaway Bay, Jamaica

We had the time of our lives at Breezes Runaway Bay Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. Arrival We arrived to the Montego Bay and made it through customs with no problem. We ushered right away to private cab to take us to our resort. When we got to the resort, we were welcomed with cold towels and fruit punch. I met the wedding coordinator in the lobby along with the infamous Guests Relations Manager (everyone raves about her on TripAdvisor)Our first day we were suppose to be alone but my Dad and Uncle came a day early. It was cool to spend some time with them. My Dad is a professional wedding photographer so we were able to do some Trash the Dress pictures before all the other guest arrived. He also set up an excursion the next day with the Bus Driver recommended by our travel Agency (Elite Travel- they are the best!)   Meeting with the Wedding CoordinatorThe next morning, before the excursion, the Coordinator went over the reception and ceremony details I requested by email before my arrival. We were having a private reception for 30 in the Ballroom with a buffet, dj, open bar, and special décor. I gave her all of the things I had brought along with instructions. (special songs, candles, banner, guestbook, cake flowers, place cards, flower petals for beach, etc.) She also made sure to have the flower lady meet me on site the following afternoon after our rehearsal. She was really on top of things! The Welcome Social & DinnerWe sent pre-travel packs to our guest and encouraged them to meet in the lobby & bar for a social the first night. This is where we gave out the OOT bags and welcomed everyone. We even had 2 off resort guest (FIL friends) attend that was kind of weird since they could not go to dinner with us. I gave FI's Dad the job of telling them the bad news.  We also collected Guest’s Room #S (a suggestion from a previous DW bride). It was so helpful for the rest of the trip.   Then we went to the Hibachi Restaurant and it took forever for the guest to make it a few steps from the lobby to the restaurant. Ha! When we finally got settled we had 3 Hibachi style tables and they even let Brandon (Hubby) prepare some food. Our table was full of the Bridal Party and Friends so we did Saki bombs and had a ball. Hubby and I walked around to each table to make sure everyone was having fun. It was my grandpa’s 83 Birthday. I asked the resort to do something special for him. They brought out a huge cake and 3 bottles of Champagne! Wow!!!Group Excursion Rehearsal DinnerThe next day about 20 of us went on an excursion with the bus driver to Ochos Rios while the rest of the guest stayed and relaxed at the resort. When we got back we rehearsed for about 30 minutes. Then we had a group dinner at the Buffet and danced the night away with the Live Band!!   Wedding Day The Day was Perfect!! I woke up early and snuck away to the Living Room so Brandon wouldn’t see me until the reception. The BM came over and we went to breakfast and the off to the Spa. They surprised me by paying for my massage. I had a heavenly massage and then when back to the room to shower and get my hair and makeup do. My Sis did an awesome job on my hair and my BM has her makeup artist certificate. She is amazing!!!CeremonyThe Ceremony was like a dream. The weather was perfect. The Florist had done an amazing job setting up the beach just like I wanted it. The Reverend was humorous and thoughtful. My Grandfather did the sand ceremony and 2 special blessings.  His participation meant so much to us. ReceptionIt was a BLAST!!! My sister let us see the room first just like the do on the TV wedding shows. It was perfect and more than I dreamed of. The decorations were awesome and matched the colors perfect. The table was full of white and purple ORCHIDS. It was so touching. My uncle Emceed and we did the BP intro, special dances, ate, and partied the night away. Good: The weather. Being surrounded by our Family and Friends for days. The Customer Service!!The folks at Breezes are so happy and ready to make your stay so enjoyable. Bad: Our Suite was not ready on our first night so we had to stay in a Oceanfront room with no pool and living room. Oh well they gave us a spa credit. Then we finally were in our suite the Plunge Pool only filled up half way the day after the wedding. Wierd. We kept calling the front desk and someone visited us that night but when we talked to the Guest Relations director the next day it was fixed in less than 20 minutes and they threw in a Couples Massage to appease us. FI and I were very happy after the massage.Ugly: Amazingly there were NO uglies and everything went well or I just ignored things   Funny: I go by Tiffany my middle name. The Minister kept calling me by my first name during the ceremony sooooo my MOH Sister interrupted the ceremony to ask him to call me Tiffany…LOL! I know she was trying to help.   I’m so sorry this was extremely long but I wanted to make sure the review helped other brides.
