We arrived at the resort at about 11 pm on Wed. Our flight got in at 8:30 but between customs and the ride from the airport it took awhile! The staff at Beaches Sandy Bay was wonderful though! They had us checked in and our bags to our room in a matter of minutes, which was great since it was a HUGE change in temp from Pittsburgh to Jamaica. We huge out down by the pool and ate hamburgers and pizza until late but it was a great first day. I didn't meet with the wc until Friday. I had recieved the wedding book and our appt time at checkin though. Our meeting with her was very short and sweet and we covered the basics. She didn't push me to do anything and was very easy to work with. We did our cake tasting at this time, which I didn't realize we were going to do this but I'm so glad that we did. I always pick vanilla cake but I hated theirs, so we ended up with Chocolate which was great!! The wedding was scheduled for 4 on Saturday but ended up being at 1 due to the weather. (will cover more in bad) Our rooms were overlooking the gazebo which is where we got married. I was able to watch them setting up while I got ready. They even got some neat pics of me while I was watching from the balcony. The wedding was beautiful and very quick. I remember bits and pieces of it but it was mostly a blur. I'm glad my brother was videotaping it because I would like to see it again. The minister was wonderful, he was funny and made it a great wedding. But he was standing right behind me so if you look in the pics I'm looking over my shoulder a lot because I wasn't sure if I was suppose to look at him and my dh was so I felt silly looking at dh. But its not a big deal and I actually like those pics. After the wedding we did our first dance and then cut the cake and and had our toast. The reception didn't last very long. I had made a cd with the music for the wedding and it also included about an hours worth of additional music. They played it when the guests arrived and also during the reception. I loved that I made it last minute and some of the people commented on it too. After the wedding we did pics for about an hour and then we changed back into our suits and hit the beach for awhile. We got dressed back up and went out to dinner that night and had a great time. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I really don't have much to complain about. It was the first time our families have met each other. Chris and I have been together for 7 years but our families live in PA and Wyoming so it has been next to impossible to get them to meet. Everyone got along great and everyone was on their best behavior. I loved the resort! It was small and very laid back. The staff was wonderful and very helpful! I would choose it again and I'm very happy that I choose it for the wedding. It is a family resort but since it is so small it doesn't feel like there are kids running around screaming and it isn't as crazy as the bigger resorts. Plus they were able to get all 19 of us into the resturants without reservations and let us pull tables together so we were one big group. Everyone commented on how much they liked it there and loved how you could wake up and decide you wanted to go waterskiiing and actually go for free. Our group really enjoyed the watersports. The best part for me is that the people that were complaining that we were planning on a dw are the people that thanked us again and again for inviting them and told us how beautiful the wedding was and how much fun they had. This was the best decision I could have made!
