So FI and I finally hammered out our honeymoon plans, which involves driving around all over Florida and basically staying in a new place each night. To give you an idea, we've decided to snorkel in the Dry Tortugas on Monday and stay in KW, then on Tuesday we drive to Key Largo and snorkel there, then on Wednesday we drive to Sanibel and stay there, etc etc. So I just got an email from Tyler's mom this morning with their plans while they are in Florida, and guess what?......They have the exact same freaking plans as we do for the first three days. Exactly the same. Not to mention they want to stay with us on the fourth night. Stay.with.us. FRICK.

Um, yeah, wow.  What part of HONEYmoon didn't they get?  I would totally change my plans around a little!!!  GL with that one.

Make changes to your plans and/or tell her NO she can not stay with you. If she doesn't understand that then I'm sorry but that is her problem (and delusion). I can't believe she would even suggest that. Hello - Honeymoon!!!

OMG I really hope that they did not make the same plans so that they could spend the time with you! And who does that.....who really asks to stay with their son or daughter 4 nights after they get married!!!!  I hope you can get some plans adjusted so that you are not spending your whole honeymoon with them.

I know, right? In their defense, they didn't know our exact plans when they made theirs. The really crappy part is that we've already made all of our reservations, so we can't really change them unless we want to lose our deposits. ....and the best part is this was FI's response: well, it's a big area, so maybe we won't see them.

No, no, no...I would try to switch around your days. Since you are still a ways out, you may be able to either get your deposit back (many have flexible cancellation policies this far out) or at least reschedule your Wednesday stay for Tuesday, etc.

I second chosen's suggestion.But maybe your fi should handle this one and tell his parents that you are not in the mood to share your honeymoon.  That is just nuts!

Ouch. I would definitely say something, but how to word it nicely? I love the "big area" comment though - talk about wishful thing. You always run into people if you don't want to see them or want to be on your own.

are they kidding? that is something i fear... and its scary it is happening to you! your plan sounds awesome. someone (FI!!) needs to have a heart to heart with them!
