Catalina Island Bound

Hey Mrs.... I was just thinking about this last night..... How is your dad?!? Isn't he the one who got into an accident not too long ago? I hope he's doing well!!!

Hey girlie!  Yup, that was my wild and crazy dad!  His leg was broken from a motorcycle accident.  His doctor and physical therapist say that he is recovering well from surgery considering how bad the break was.  Unfortunately, the way his leg is healing, he has a bow to it now...somehow lost the straightness.  We are not sure how that will affect his walking down the road.  We also have to wait to see how bad his knee is going to be.  They said he aged it by 30 years...so we are curious and hope that was an overstatement.  I saw him this past Saturday.  He is still in pain but driving and getting around pretty good.  He is off crutches and is now using a cane.His motorcycle was totaled which he was super bummed about because he hadn't had that one very long.  But my parents already had a new bike bought within weeks of his accident!  I'm worried about them getting back on  the bike.  Especially because my mom has had a knee replacement and my dad obviously isn't going to be that steady anymore.  But they are grown-ups and can do their own thing.Thanks for asking!

Yay for your dad!! I'm glad he's doing well. I think Brian will get another maybe 4 to 6 weeks on his bike for the season. Then it'll be time for him to take the Explorer instead of the Motorcycle. He hasn't had to use the heated jacket much, but I'm sure in the next week or so he will.

You are a brave girl to ride with him!  I rode with my dad once and was a total scaredy cat.

I absolutely love it now. However, it took a while before I would even ride on the back of that thing. To this day, I still close my eyes when we go around some turns! I can't get over the fact that there are no freaking seat belts though. LOL.
