New Jenny Craig Commercial

with Sara Rue in her hot pink bathing suit.

ANNOYS the crap out of me!!!!    First, its an ugly bathing suit.   Second, we've seen it, Jenny.  remember your success with kirstie alley in her bathing suit?  way to be original.   3rd, she says something like "now that im sexy i can do anything"  Seriously?  STFU.   Im a big girl.  Even after losing 40lbs, Im still a big girl. And I CAN do anything.  Now, and then, and in the future.  And I AM sexy.   Yeah, even now in my size 14 jeans!!   I hate it when companies make women feel like they are worthless because of physical appearance.   As if women arent insecure enough now a days as it is.   One would think that with the media propogating stick thin women and eating disorders every day, a weight loss company would try to take the higher road, and suggest that you ARE beautiful, we just want you HEALTHIER.

vent over.  thank you for letting me get that out.

Re: New Jenny Craig Commercial

  • You make a great point!  All the weight loss commercials are showing going from this one size to another size and losing X amount of pounds, instead of being healthier.  I often have to remind myself that it isn't all about the number on the scale (Which is so hard to remember), but on how it feels to look in the mirror or how clothes feel!

There is too much concentration on being a size 0, it makes me sick as well...I've gained the "love" weight, but even before that when I danced and was really active, I was still not a size 0, nor will I ever be!!!

    Go Get 'Em Girl!
  • Sarah Rue definitely looks good, but I think she looked good when she was bigger too!  She has a beautiful face, and no matter what size or shape your body is, all women are beautiful!

And yes, I agree - our world is sick today how much we focus on weight and appearance.  I mean look at how many people have plastic surgery now and don't even think it's a big deal.

(Disclosure:  I have had plastic surgery, but it was because I had a bad underbite and I was wearing my back teeth down to nubs.  So while it was technically PS, it was necessary - and I didn't take it lightly!  I was only 16, and I had to take my 2 favorite stuffed animals in with me - the doctors were so nice about it!)

  • I haven't seen the commercial, i dvr everything and always fast fwd through them, but I could agree more with "I hate it when companies make women feel like they are worthless because of physical appearance. " My sister is stick skinny naturally and is a size 0 and hates it, people always think she's anorexic or bulemic (lucky b eats whatever she freakin wants) but she too feels like she needs plastic surgery cuz she has no boobs, and hates that she has the body of a boy (she says). No matter what size you are the media makes you think you're not as pretty as you Can be. psh, whatever.
