Cupcakes!

So FI and I are pretty set on wanting to do a cupcake tower as the wedding cake. However, after a few phone calls, and visits to a couple bakeries, this doesn't seem as common as I thought it was. We're getting a lot of "well, we've never done that before, but we can". Uhhh...that doesn't sound really confident!

Can anyone recommend a bakery in either South Philly or Center City that is known for their cupcakes?? I don't know the city very well.

I think people I've known that have done cupcakes for their wedding built the structure themselves, then got the cupcakes from a bakery.  My boss did this, I can ask her where she got them.

Whipped bakeshop -- its on belgrade street near fishtown/port richmond..they have a website too. My man and I are originally from philly --moved out to chester county 5 yrs. ago. and I have many family members still there. we've had their cupcakes. love em..

We did a cupcake tower and went wth Velvet Sky in Jenkintown. They specialize in cup cakes.

Naked Chocolate also has cupcakes, but I've heard amazing things about Velvet Sky!

Velvet sky has a free cupcake day at some point so I would suggest checking that out and see for yourself how delicious they are.

Thanks for all the ideas! I checked out a few websites and they all look sooo good.

Will definitely check into this free cupcake day, that sounds amazing!

I've definitely heard good things about Velvet Sky and I think it's Philly Cupcake that is in Chestnut Hill. Those cupcakes are to die for!
