Welcome Bags

someone mentioned in another post today that we should be careful when bringing goodies to our DW for guests because items might get confiscated at customs. i started thinking about how upsetting this would be and came up with an idea. what if i mailed the package to guests before the wedding? this way no one would be carrying multiple items that could be confiscated and if i'm including items like sunscreen and waterproof cameras, then they wouldn't have to pack/buy their own. maybe even add to everyone's excitement a little bit more. has anyone else thought about doing this? i would still have the front desk distribute programs upon check-in. we are anticipating 20-25 attendees.

Re: Welcome Bags

  • Depending on the location of your DW this may be a good idea!  We won't run into any customs problem since we're leaving from and returning to a US Port, when it comes to our DW.  :)
  • Hadn't thought of that, but that is a great idea!  PS - Catalina, love your centerpieces!  :)

  • I was thinking the same thing. Not so much because of the customs issue, but because I was also going to pack sunscreen, aloe vera, etc., and this way my guests wouldn't have to buy any before hand. Hmmm... what to do?!
  • Very interesting idea. Hmmmm....... Something to consider. I have been trying to decide what to put in the welcome bags based on the various issues that need to be considered.
  • I thought about the same thing. We are doing a cruise and I read that we cannot bring any food or drinks on the trip. I was planning on doing personalized water bottles but I would hate for everyone's bag to be pulled apart and items thrown away. I will be mailing them cute luggage tags before the trip.I will give them the welcome bags on the cruise. Not completely sure what will go in them yet.
