My bouquet PIP....

FI's aunt was going to make my bouquet but started hinting a few weeks ago that she didn't want to do it anymore. Whatevs. So now I'm taking the task upon myself. This was my semi inspiration


Except that I can't get peonies, ranunculus, dahlias or garden roses. Basically anything similar haha. So I decided to go with any flower that is wide and open and this is what I made today






 
They're mostly caranations, which is ironic because I used to hate them haha. I always have a really tough time getting the bouquet shape right so I'm still working on it. The top is kind of flat. So what do you think??? I'm so hard on myself.. I feel like in person it looks obviously DIY and made by an amateur. Wahh!

I welcome any critiques, suggestions, comments...!

FI just got home and likes it too. He said just what you did Schatzi... when it's you DIYing something you see all the flaws and think it's less than what it really is. But if you bought the same thing somewhere, you would probably think it's fine and perfect the way it is lol. Schatzi are you also making your bouquet? Now I think I remember you mentioning something about this. Sounds like you did a trial run..? How did it go??

Nati - honestly, I think your bouquet is one of the most stunning I have ever seen. I looked at the pics before I read your critiques on yourself and I thought HOLY SH***T THOSE FLOWERS ARE FREAKING BEAUTIFUL. it doesn't look flat and I wouldn't know that it was DIY if you hadn't told me.

Honestly, I think it looks amazing. Next to your inspiration pic, it's clearly different. But no one's going to be comparing it to your inspiration other than us and on it's own, it's lovely. I like the different heights you have going on in it

It's amazing!!! Never in a million years I'd be able to do something like that! Are they real flowers? Are you going to make another one for the wedding or is that the one you're going to use? Sorry, I don't know a lot about flowers!

Mekiakoo, they're real flowers but I'm just practicing beforehand so I know what I like, what I hate... and know how much I'll need to order.

Schatzi, I'm not sure I saw your bouquet before but it's gorgeous and I love it!!! Great job! Apparently we're both nuts doubting our DIY bouquets ;-)
