marriage license-name change

We are thinking of getting married in Maui, i read it will take 120 days to send us the official marriage license. Does this sound right, I want to change my name right away and need that document.

You can start changing your name on things but (hopefully a Hawaii old married will chip in!) I think you can pay a fee to expedite the license? I've already started changing on my magazines, bank accounts, etc. and we don't have the "official" license.

That sounds about right. However, we got ours quicker than that. Got married on July 7th and received it Sept 1st. You can pay more to get it quicker, but everyone I know who has done this only got it a few days quicker. I wouldn't pay the extra.

Ours took about 4 months to Canada.  Jen got hers in about 2 months with expediting.  I think US can expect it to take 3 months unless you pay more.
