Italy marriages

Hi, My FI and I are going on a business trip to Rome.  This is a second marriage for both of us.  We are thinking it would be nice and simple to get married over there just the two of us.  However it is proving very difficult to find information on the requirements and who might marry us.  We do not want a catholic wedding.  Just a simple justice of the peace type thing would be fine.

Please let me know if you have any experience or information to share!  Thank you!

When my son and DIL were planning their destination wedding in Italy a few years ago there were lots of rules and regulations including being in the country for an extended period of time prior to the ceremony. Since they were just having immediate family they actually got legally married here and then had a ceremony there. It's not as eBay as just going over there and finding someone to marry you :(
