I'm trying to decide on my hair and MUA for my wedding day! I have 3 options. The Salon in my hotel does hair and makeup on location (in my room) for $200 and includes a complimentary consultation (a discussion w the stylist to help achieve the desired look. At the Salon (only downstairs in my hotel) hair and makeup for $125+ A hair stylist and MUA to travel to my hotel. $140 +$30 travel fee. This person had airbrush makeup. The hotel MUA does not.

If the salon is that close I personally would probably go to the salon... I'm kinda jealous, there isn't one near our resort like that!

If you would probably get the same stylist whether at the Salon or in your room, I would go down to the Salon and save the $75

I've got someone coming so both myself and my MOH can get ready together.  We're doing it in my Mom and Dad's hotel room, so we're going to have a good girls lunchtime together.  For us, it works better as Mom won't be getting her hair/make-up done with us, so she can still be around and take part in everything.  Depends on what works for you.  I also wasn't crazy about the info on my hotel's salon, so decided to not go with them.

I will be all alone since we are eloping so either I would be in the room getting ready with FI there or downstairs at the salon. I like the fact of saving money but I also like the fact that the one lady has airbrush, then again, does it really matter, we are eloping so nobody will see me, just in pics! I already made an apt for my hair in the salon months ago before I realized I have no time to do makeup. Hair apt is at 8 am and ceremony is at 10 am!

I'd do the salon I think.  Gives you a little time away and get ready. Plus saving money.  I don't know how big of a deal the airbrush is since I've never had it or seen it, sorry!

On location hair from the salon starts at $90, not sure about bringing the other lady in for just makeup. I do know her travel fee is $30 so I probably wouldnt save any money there.

From one Hawaii bride to another, you must airbrush! I know you care about your photos and without the airbrush you will be shiney. When we were there I kept having to apply powder to not be shiney in pictures. Or so I thought. I was still shiney in them. The airbrush keeps that from happening. I'd pay the extra to make sure I looked great in my pictures.

Kimmy, that is my only concern! I do wanna look good in my pics as they are very important to me, esp since this is all my family and friends will be seeing!

Then do the airbrushing! If you asked this on the Hawaii board they would all tell you to airbrush.
