Something old... Something borrowed

So I know that I am using my dress as my something new and I'm having my petticoat embroidered with our date in blue for my something blue.  However, I have no idea what to use for my something old or something borrowed.  What are you guys using?

Old: e-ring. The diamonds were my grandmother's

Borrowed: not sure, maybe a brooch to attach to the stem of the bouquet.

New: Underwewar maybe?? Haha

Blue: Going to have the BMs sign the bottom of my shoes in blue ink!

Borrowed: I might ask if I can borrow one of my Grandma's rings.

Blue: My Detroit Tigers garter.

New: Probably the underwear I wear that day.

I have heard that you are not supposed to count your dress as your "something new", haha, I am not sure why though!!

I haven't planned all of mine out yet. I love the idea of embroidering your petticoat - I am hoping my mom will be able to do this, I am just not sure what undergarments I will be wearing yet!

New: gift from fiance
old: diamonds from my cousin - I inherited her jewelry collection when she passed away
borrowed: my jeweler has told me I can borrow whatever I want for the wedding - I just need to figure out what my old is and what type of present my fiance is giving me so I can plot this all out!
blue: hopefully the embroidery...if not that, perhpas my garter.

Old/Borrowed: My mom's diamond bracelet my dad gave her.

New: Earrings? Who knows. Everything's new.

Blue: Garter (my mom kind of let that part slip).

It's all basically about luck. Originally old is something from your home/ single days to tie you back to your family and your old home so you always maintain a good relationship with them and never forget them. New is to embrace your new married life. Blue I believe was the color of luck, peace or purity...can't remember which haha. I might be wrong but I think it came from something with the Virgin Mary. Borrowed should be from a married woman in a successful and happy marriage. I can't remember the reason either but I'm sure it must be luck related so that you have a happy marriage too. I read about it in an article a while ago..and then I never found it again :

For me new is easy, that's just about everything haha. Blue will either be embroidered date or garter. Borrowed my cousin's crinoline, if it fits though cuz it's got this crazy tight tummy control thing on it. Old is the big question...I have no idea. I might just end up wearing one of my usual pairs of underwear haha!

Old: A ring I have that says "HOPE"..It will be on my right hand. It holds special meaning to me.

New: Jewelry and flower clip in my hair.

Borrowed: Not sure on this yet....

Blue: My garter will have blue in it.

And I have a sixpence that my mom gave me for my shoe. . . Not sure if that could be my borrowed or not.

Old- I am going to have a pin of my grandmothers on my bouquet
New- My underwear for that day
Blue-Shoes
Barrowed- I am wearing on of my BM wedding veils

I haven't even put any thought into this yet. Yikes! I like some of these ideas though. Especially having the bridesmaids sign the bottom of your shoes. That's cute.

Old: I'll be wearing my grandmothers Jewlry

New: Not sure since dress doesn't count, probably underwear

Borrowed: Well the old Jewlry is also borrowed, plus I'll be carrying my grandmas bible as well.

Blue: My e-ring has saphires in it.

This one seems so silly to me. I have no desire to do any of it, lol, I don't know why. But, I will be wearing my great-grandmothers ring that is old and blue. But that's purely by coincidence.

I am doing the same thing too! I saw it on Pintrest and I loved the idea!

New: My Dress
Old: Jewlery my grandma's and my mom's
Borrowed: my BFF's petticoat
Blue: (see above)

New:  probably my underware...everything I am wearing will be new

Blue:  Fi's mom just gave him some turquoise jewelry that was his dads.  I think I am going to try to use a piece of that somehow...maybe with my bouquet.  I think my FI & his family would really like that.

Old and Borrowed: I'm taking a piece of jewelry my dad gave my mom and pinning it in a pouch either on my bouquet or inside my dress.

New and Blue: My garter. I won't put it on at all until the wedding day.
