YAY!!! My Dress Fit! LOTS of PIP :)

Today was and exciting day for me   I went to try my dress on for the first time today since it came in!  AND my brother came with me...(that meant a lot to me because my brother won't be able to make it to the wedding, but I wanted his approval of the dress and I wanted him to see me in it)

I was extremely nervous going in since I did order my dress a bit smaller than what I measured back in September... BUT  I am happy to report that it zipped up and fit like a glove...  At this point in time very minor alterations need to be done, but I'm sure come April 26th (My first fitting) I will hopefully need it taken in.

The scary thing for me is that the shop said the latest I can go in to start alterations was the end of April, which still seem early for me...  So I need to be at my goal weight or close to it by April and then hope I maintain it till the wedding...  Does this frighten anyone else? 

Anyway...here are TONS of pics... I took pics with all my shoes...  Just need to figure out how I'm going to wear them all...lol... The veil in the pics is not mine... I was just trying on some that they had in the store.

Oh that dress is fantastic! My first and only fitting was the end of Jan and I took it home end of Feb since I told them I needed the dress by march 1 Ps. Go with fuschia shoes!

Beautiful Jen! You look fabulous in your dress! Great job at loosing weight to fit into it. I'm sure you'll be fine! Love the fushia shoes too! I'm stressing about the same thing. When I went with my dtr to get her prom dress, my seamstress told me I have to come back tomorrow to try my dress back on again before she starts it. After that I really can't loose anymore weight because my dress is a PIA to alter, so I guess after tomorrow its all about maintaining for me. I'm kinda sad because I wanted to loose 5 more lbs and I just started South Beach 2 weeks ago and have been doing great with it.

Sam...  Let's do this!  I've got a lot of motivation now.. I have my BPics on 4/21 and my fitting on 4/26 and I know you are right there with me...we got this! ...lol...

@Nicole... for my hair, I've been planning to wear it up because it doesn't do well in the heat....  But I really started to like the way it looks down...:(  Not sure if I should risk being uncomfortable though. Still finalizing that decision...

Yay!  Glad all went well!  I didn't take my dress in for alterations until maybe 6 weeks before the wedding!?  Are you dead set on having them done at the shop where you bought the dress?  I would ask them what happens if your weight flucturates between then and the wedding and make sure they are prepared to make any minor nips and tucks.

I'm not dead set on having them there...but I really don't know of any other reputible places... so it seemed safe to do them there.  I did ask them what happens if my weight fluctuated... their answer "you will have to pay for alterations again"  :-/... so yeah that's a little scary.  The reason they want to start 8 weeks out is because they said they are so busy and want to make sure they are done on time.  While I do appreciate that, I'm super nervous about maintaining my weight for 2 months....

Beautiful! I don't think you need to lose anymore weight. It fits you perfect! Plus, you'd save money on alterations and you wouldn't need to worry about any fitting dates.

On a side note, my first fitting it May 6th and I am not getting married very much later than you.

I started my alterations 2 months out. I have had it taken in twice and they were scheduling my apppintments every 2-3 weeks, but the intial cost included as many alterations as needed so you may want to check and see if your place is the same. Good luck!
