Return Address question...

I had originally ordered return address labels from VP but when I got them I didn't like the way they looked on the envelope. They had both my name and my fiances name. My FMIL suggested I order clear labels, which I thought was a great idea. But her and fiance want me to put my fiances name with my future last name(ex: Anthony and Amanda Banana) on the labels so that we can use the extras after we are married. I think it would be weird, but maybe I am just thinking too much into it. What do you think?

What do you plan to use them on?  If it's the invitations, I think that's a little weird too.   I also just ordered labels from VP with my future last name on them - but I plan to use them on our thank you cards...and then for anything else for after we're married.  I don't plan on using them before that!

Yes, they're for the actual invites. They don't want me to "waste" any, since I already ordered 240 from VP that have my actual last name on them. And I would be getting 240 more by ordering clear ones. I only need about 100. So, they think it's silly to waste the rest since I won't really need them for anything but the invites. But I think it's weird and it's not like I am spending hundreds of dollars! lol. They're arguement is that if I put my future last name, I can use them for things after the wedding too. But I didn't think it was a big deal if they don't get used!

My thoughts exactly... they are so inexpensive!!  My order of 140 lables was like $3.75.  I say order new ones!

I would not use your married name.  You could just use FI's name on the labels if it's that important to him not to waste any.

Thanks girls. I know this sounds so silly, haha. I just don't wana make FMIL upset. I didn't know something so small as address labels would cause this much fuss. =P

Or another thought.  Just do your married last name without first names.

I ordered them and ended up just putting my fiances name and then my name with my real last name. I don't really think $10 is anything to be upset about "wasting". Plus, I want my dads side of the family to recognize who it's from since I am not that close with them.

You can also use them for random bills even after you are married.  I mean, I send out the few bills that I still mail with the random free labels I get in the mail with kittens, birds, texas flags, etc. on them!
