DJ and Photographer

Any Idea who to go to that is inexpensive and good? I looked into THE PROS and they seem to be reasonable --- as far as a photographer goes I just need someone to take pictures and give me the disc I'd rather do the album myself and THE PROS have a package for this.

Unfortunately I haven't gone to many wedding in the last  7 years so I'm pretty clueless with all this stuff!

stay away from the pros and dont give them your information, they will never leave you alone!

I always recommend my Photog Marc Anthony, he's located over in Jersey. I felt his rates were great for what we were getting compared to some of the other photos some of the ladies used here, but it also comes down to who you feel comfortable with. I met a couple others and just didn't feel like we clicked.

In terms of DJ, I know DJ's Available is pretty reasonable from what I read from posts around here. I'm going with Synergetic mostly because of the package pricing we're getting with what we want DJ's available wasn't able to provide. Synergetic is definitely pricier then DJ's Avail. So if you want great work, at a good price you might want to hit them up. Apparently some guy Mike is great to work with there. At least I think his name was Mike. I dunno

I second that! They will call and call and call even when you tell them or LIE and say you already found someone. Also, I checked our 20 venues to have our wedding, 4 of the venues refuse to let the PROS on their property. They are not allowed to say why but they just refuse it.

I am using Sharyn Frenkel for my photog and she is fairly reasonable and will work with a smaller budget.

I am using DJs available for my DJ.

I'm using M2 Photography and Silversound for my DJ's.

Special hint for Silversound - sign up saying you're intersted and they'll email you the rates of their DJ's.  If you don't respond in about a month or so they'll email you the rates again and lower them.

My FSIL used the Pros and was not pleased. She doesn't even like to show her album, and they changed the DJ on her at the last minute.

Stay away from the Pros. I understand where you are coming from with just wanting the disc but their work blows. Sorry but it does. Like bigjajapoof I am using Marc Anthony as well. He doesn't have packages. You start with the base price which is for a disc and all day coverage and then you can get an album as an option. Check him out. For photography I used Sarah Schulte Photography. For my DJ I used DJ's available. I was very pleased with both of them.

We're going with David Humphreys Photography (www.dhumphreys.com), and seriously looking at Schaffer Sound (www.schaffersound.com) for DJ.  Dave shot my old roommate's wedding two years ago and he was great.  Schaffer was the DJ for two of my cousin's weddings, so we have to set up an appointment with them.

I was gonna ask a friend to dj which i am cool with but I just looked at Marc Anthony;s site and realized that the friends I was gonna ask to be my photographer might not work UGH MORE MONEY!!!!

I'm just looking for photographers. I think I doged a bullet with the pros. They seemed too good to be true to some degree.

THanks for the ideas ladies.  I have a budget of about $2000 for photo and video...yikes!

Weird to see negativity about The Pros.  We are using The Pros for photography and DJ.  The Photog. and DJ. were really nice.  I don't know what people are saying about they don't leave you alone.  We've had no problems with them.  Now technically, I'm sorry, right now I'm in the Central PA area, but I'm from the Southeastern PA area, that's why I was looking on here.  Anyway, we went to their showcase and the photog. had great pics.  We went with them also because of how cheap and the whole no album thing (although for booking them that night we got a free album).  I read a whole bunch of great reviews on them.
