I know u ladies are creative....help

I've bee stressing over games for my sisters shower. I have some ideas but really want to incorporate the beach theme into some games. I thought of maybe using colored sand and vases but what kind of game can I make out of that? Any help appreciated!

  • Maybe you could do a best design contest or something... have people put sand in the vases and then the bride votes on the one that she likes best and they get a prize? Something like that? Are you going to have a lot of different colors?

Kimmy I like that idea. I'll be playing beach music so when the music stops then that person would get a prize. Now to find mini beach balls!!! Lora, ya I think that would be good. I can get a bunch of different colors for the guests to use. Do u think it would be too hard to have my sister do one and whomever at each table makes one closest to hers wins??

  • I found this by searching beach themed bridal showers:

This game will play like your typical pictionary game, with a stick and the entire beach side as your pen and paper.
Since this is a bridal shower, the words to be guessed at should be related to getting married, married life and the like.

  • Another suggestion I saw was a hula hoop contest.  Or you could do an old stand by and put a bunch of shells in a jar and make people guess how many there are.

  • You could also do the game where you give everyone a flower clip or a lei and an't say a specific words like the bride or groom's name.  If they do any someone catches them, they take the flower/lei and who ever has the most after a certian time gets a prize.

Pictionary would be cute but we arent gonna actually be at the beach. Do you think adults would want to do hula hooping? The lei idea is good since we are giving these out anyway to guests! The only thing is she's not opening gifts because she registered for her honeymoon so idk what I can use as the word or phrase.

  • I would do hula hooping.  :)

What about using her name or the word "wedding"?

  • You could also do just regular sand art. They have beach themed bottles, so you can set them up at each table as the centerpiece almost, and just have them make it. This could double as favors as well!

I've been looking at www.sandartsupplies.com because I think I am going to do "message in a bottle" as favors. The prices seem pretty reasonable.

  • I love the hula hoop idea. The jar of shells and the lei game, too. You can get mini beach balls at oriental trading company.
  • You could also do something where you do the "who knows the bride best" type of things, but instead of paper you could write questions on a beach ball. Everyone gets in a cirlce and you throw the ball to one person. Where their left thumb lands, for example, is the question they have to answer. Or instead of questions, it could be different categories (advice for the bride, etc).

I've done this with a soccer ball in the past for work training, mainly because there are tons of spaces there.

  • My MOH made a bridal mad libs for guests to fill out at the shower. I haven't seen them, yet. After Saturday I could let you know what is on them. She made them up and made them printed at Vistaprint.

Beach wedding bingo! And use phrases that will come out of your sister's mouth during the day and that's when people get to block it off. I know people do gift bingo too.
