RSVP question

I'm trying to decide what to do about RSVPs and I'd be curious to know what you all think.

We're having our wedding in DR at an AI resort.  It's pricey for everyone invited, and we've got a fairly good idea who's going to be able to join us and who isn't.  We're sending invites to everyone we'd like there, even those we're pretty sure can't make it.

We also have a couple of friends having kids before our wedding and if they do join us, they will have to book last minute, which is no biggie.

Concerning RSVPs, I wanted to have phone/email RSVPs.  Anyone who's coming will book through our TA (whose information will be included on the invite), and can book anytime between now and November.  So really, there isn't an RSVP date at all.  It seems silly to add one arbitrarily. 

Is it inapporpriate to say "Please RSVP by phone or email" and not have a date?

There are a few girls who did something like this, so hopefully they can respond for wording purposes.  I would have something the booking deadline being the rsvp.  It's just the easiest.

We did something similar to this.  We knew pretty much everyone that was coming.  For that matter most of them booked well in advance.  So instead of including RSVP cards I included accomadation cards and put the TA's info and the booking date. 

 We had tons of info on our wedding website regarding the hotel and all that jazz. And I didn't care to pay for postage for people to respond No.    I think it is fine to just put that info and no include a card.  If I were you I would put an RSVP on your wedding website.  I use wedding wire and they have an RSVP feature.  I didn't think about this before our invites went out but oh well.

I did not get an RSVP return card - the invitation just had the travel agent's email and let everyone know she was the one to contact - for an RSVP date we used when our room block ends - which is May 3, and yes I know our wedding is in September, but the hotel made that the date the room block ends (people can obviously still book through travel agent after)!  You do want to give some kind of date - if you plan to do OOT bags you will want to know how much to buy.

I would put a "please respond with regards to your attendance via email by/no later than (insert date here) to (insert email address here). For additional information, please contact  (travel agent email here)."
