Whats up ladies?

FI is stuck at work late tonight so I figured I would jump on here and see what everyone else is up to.

Wedding stress is starting to get to me. UNfortunately I am one of those that would rather bury my head in the sand instead of meeting stresses head on, so I am currently watching my DVDs of Friends and browsing the internet. But seriously (and I know Jenn jtoly can relate) how the hell is it almost May already?

We dodged a bit of a bullet this week that was adding some additional stress. FI got a good opportunity to get a fantastic promotion (we work for the same co) BUT it would include us moving to the Chicago area (from south Texas... for real) 3 weeks after the wedding. Unfortunately (or fortunately, however you want to look at it) they were not able to meet the salary we were asking for and he passed. They were willing to pay for our relocation (and who doesnt love a bit of adventure as newlyweds?) but with the added responsibilities and additional hours it was not worth it. I will say my Mom was having a hard time holding back her excitement when I told her it was a no go.

Wedding-wise we are on track, but I have TONS of details to sort out. I managed to find a new baker, but it is about 50 more than we were budgeted for originally. We are going to go for it, but bleh....

Got a good deal for our honeymoon where they are throwing in free show tickets (like a good show) with our rooms. So I am booking that on Friday.

And.... how is everyone else's night going?

  • Wow the job offer is crazy, we went through that too! He was supposed to start two days after we came back from our wedding. The offer sounded awesome pay was fantastic but they didn't have all the details figured out by the time he had to give an answer (mainly benefits, how much for company car) they just kept saying you would get those things...he passed. But probably for the better! What show is it in vegas they are giving you? We go to Vegas at least once a year and have seen quite a few (all have been really good).

Hey long time no chat! We are getting so close, I can't wait! Wow that souls be a big change, moving to Chicago! I think I would love a move like that. I want a new job but I don't want to get one unless I'm forced too (I gave great benefits) and I need to find new friends to hang out with that aren't friend with my XH. But then again I would miss my family! You better get moving on those details ; ) Dont disappear on us before your big day!!

  • That is crazy about the new job.  It might be a blessing that it didn't work out so you don't have that added stress hanging over your head.

I am starting to get stressed out about the details too.  I feel like I have so many things to do in only 57 days! AHH!  Plus we are moving out of our current apartment on April 29th so I am attempting to get ready for that.  O and on top of wedding and moving, I have 2 weeks left of classes before final! UGH!  SO MUCH TO DO!!!!! Holy crap I am feeling super overwhelmed!

  • Time just flies! It feels like just yesterday I was celebrating hitting the 1 year mark to my wedding on here hahaha!
  • We are going to see Love, the Cirque Beetles show at Mirage. Originally we were going to see Ka because of cost issues, but with the free tickets we can go see our first choice.

I'm trying not to dissapear! My head is spinning right now but since the work thing is out of the way, I have more brainpower to concentrate on wedding stuff.

  • I've seen both Love and Ka. They are both really good, Ka the stage goes from horizontal to vertical and stuff. Love was my favourite though, they speak English and it's just enjoyable! There's a comedienne at the flamingo named vinnie favorito, he's on like 2 x a night. His shtick is to make fun of the audience, it's Hillarious. There are booths (tix4tonight) on the strip where you can get his and lots of other shows for cheap. You can't go wrong with any show in Vegas! Enjoy, it's one of our favourite places!
