Getting married on a Cruise

My Fiance and I have decided on a cruise wedding and then we are going to have a reception back home. I was just wondering if there is anyone else who has done this or is thinking of doing this. Is it a good idea? Any tips or facts would be very helpful! Thanks!

We are getting married on the Carnival Legend on 08/08/2010. So far the planning has gone very well.  The people at carnival and the wedding experience have been very helpful any time I call with questions and they have even called me to check to see if I needed anything.  I have made a few changes to their packages by bringing my own flowers and cake topper and they have no problem with that except that the flowers cannot be real.  I am very excited about it all and just can't wait!!

I am doing the same as PP but just a different ship. The flower upgrades are $$$$$ so we are also doing fake flowers, but everything else is going great!

We are also getting married on a cruise - Emerald Princess. And I decided not to worry about things I cannot influence. So I hope my hair style, bouquet and cake would be perfect, since I cannot bring any of these with me from Europe...=)

I am worried that we will not be able to personalize it enough, I really want to be able to have the traditional experiences such as the first dance with the song of our choice and I am not sure if we will be able to do those things on the cruise.
