Sand Ceremony Idea

Today must be a big post day!  Either that or I'm actually in the mood to get some things done...lol.

So on the BDW board I read about an idea that someone did with thier sand ceremony and I really liked it... the only problem is I don't know if it's too much...

This is how I would incorporate it...

1) in the OOT bags, each couple would get a vial of sand to bring with them to the ceremony.
2) When it's time to do the sand ceremony, each couple would bring up their vial of sand and put that into the sand frame I ordered (https://www.etsy.com/transaction/80402155).  This would be our foundation...
3) my kids would then put in their vials of sand
4) FI and I would finish it off with our portion of sand.

In my head I like the idea because in reality our friend and family are our foundation... and them being present shows thier support.. then my kids and FI and I on top of that shows the blended family/love.

Does that make sense?  too much?  to sappy??

oh... forgot to add that the sand given to our guests would be sand from the beach in Puntaa Cana

I think that is a neat idea!  I think that your guests will love that you include them in the ceremony.  And it is totally doable for a wedding of your size!

If you are going to do this, I would suggest handing the vials out to your guests when they got there. Then you don't have to worry about anyone forgetting them.

I think that is so sweet! My only concern would be that it would take quite awhile, depending on how many guests you have....but if it's a smaller wedding I'd be all for it. I think it's a really cute idea.

I agree with Kimmy. Maybe having a cute basket with all the vials ! That could be really awesome if you did that We are having our mom's do this before the ceremony as they walk in.

That is super cute! I was going to use sand from our beach as well for our sand ceremony but I may borrow your idea! I may just do immediate family from our sides though because not everyone going is related to us (for example FIs sister is travelling with a friend, etc).
