E-ring during ceremony

I read somewhere that most people don't wear their e-ring during the ceremony but put it on after. Some ladies said they wore it on their left hand until it was over and some said they didn't wear it at all. For my first wedding, I wore it on my ring finger and my XH just placed my wedding band on top. After the ceremony was over I just switched them around. What are you ladies planning to do?

I found this a while ago on one of the other boards and FI and I are thinking about doing it. " There was and it included this really cute thing a girls priest/pastor said during the ceremony. I don't remember the exact wording but it was somehing like "The e-ring is the promise and the wedding ring is the commitment. You keep the e-ring over wedding ring so the promise holds the commentment in and protects it" He said it after the ring ceremony and had the groom place the e-ring on the brides finger after the wedding ring."

That's cute and I like the idea of this. Wonder where she had her ering for the ceremony.

I left mine on and switched it, just like you mentioned.  DH didn't even notice that I switched them until halfway through the night.

I wore it on my right ring finger then right after the ceremony I put it on top of the wedding band.

We did this.  We had a small bowl with his ring, my ring, and my e-ring which we passed for a ring warming.  Then the officiant collected it just before the exchange of rings.

Tanq is this something your officiant told you he would be doing during the ceremony? Maybe I should contact mine to see if she has some special way she does this. We won't be meeting her prior to our ceremony.

I am planning on wearing my e-ring on my right hand, so after the ceremony, I'll swtich it to the ring finger of my left hand.

But, I do love what Tanq did! It shows that the e-ring has importance just as much as the wedding band. Love it.

My something old, my great grandmothers wedding rings, are worn on my right hand. I've worn them there since she passed so I really want to wear them that day as well.

jtoly -- I would just ask your officiant.  It's not that uncommon.  Our officiant was actually my best friend, and she wrote the script from scratch.  She had heard something similar at another wedding and worked it into our text without me realizing.  I found out like the night before when she asked if I was OK with it

Here's the excerpt:

I am planning to wear it on my right hand but now I am loving the quote Cathy shared and may try to include that....decisions decisions lol

I'm sooo confused as what to do with this... My wedding band is actually 2 bands, on on each side of the ering.  I really wanted to wear my ering on my right had, BUT it will be weird when it comes time for him to put the wedding bands on.  I think I'll end up having to take my ering off and then him put all three rings on me at the same time...
