Back from bachelorette and am facing some stress...

So I will start by saying my bachelorette party was AWESOME. There were 10 of us that rented a beach house for the weekend down at Folly Beach in SC. We stayed in and chilled Friday night and then went to the beach all day on Saturday followed by a night out in Charleston Saturday night. I def drank way too much and got super embarrassed by a little came they called "hot potato" but instead of potato it was something very inappropriate. Anyway, I love my friends and everyone is SO excited for CR.

But now the wedding is SOOO close and I am stressing about little details that I need to figure out as soon as possible. The main one being my luggage. I looked in our wedding room at our house (yes we have a room full of wedding stuff HAHA) and now that we have everything in for the wedding it hit me how much we are taking to CR with us. Candles, paper lanterns, wish lanterns, fans, stationary and 2 weeks of clothes, etc. Is anyone else taking lots of stuff and wondering how the hell you are going to get it down there ??? I am scared to ship but also do not want to have to pay a ton for checked bags + the fear of them being lost. AHHHHH.

I know what you mean, all the stuff seems to be adding up! I've heard horror stories about shipping stuff down there, so we are planning on just paying the extra fees for checked baggage. Most of it will only be one way anyways, so an extra $30-$50 won't make that much of a difference (especially considering shipping costs will probably be just as much).

Lora - how many bags are you checking between the two of you ?

We aren't taking much stuff, but if we were we would probably just pay the extra for the checked baggage.

We are fortunate that my parents will be driving down to Key West and taking my dress along with some other items with them!  But I voted for checking luggage rather than shipping your items.  I think that it is worth the extra money and the cost might not be too much more than shipping!

I wonder how many bags they allow and the fee. I guess I should contact Delta

We will check 3 I think. It looks like Delta gives you your first checked bag free for Costa Rica:  http://www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/baggage/checked/index.jsp

The cost to ship is WAY more than the cost to check extra bags. I went through all of our stuff and was surprised to see it all fit in one plastic bin. We will be checking that as an additional bag.

I have the same worry!  I have soooo much stuff that I'm taking with me that I am starting to wonder how we are going to do it...lol.. But I'm sure we will make it work even if we have to pay for an extra luggage or two...  I'm going to start worrying about it in the beginning of June lol
