Need some honest opinions

I have been playing around with invites and this is what I came up with.  I also did it with a white background.  What do you think?

I think it looks great!  What color paper are you printing it on?  Personally I would leave the background white... I really like how you did the palm trees with the green and aqua! What color are you doing the sleeves?

  • I am going to print on white paper I think.  I am not sure what color to do the sleeves in.  I am thinking that I am going to have to take them to a paper store or something to find the right color.  Here it is with a white background.

  • They look awesome!!! I love them! Great job!!!  I would do the sleeve in the green to contrast the aqua band on the bottom!  Can't wait to see it all put together!

  • I would definitely go with the white...it will have a "crisper" look to it when you print it out. but I guess it's a matter of preference since I'm not big into printed colored backgrounds. If you wanted the sand color background I would print it on that color paper instead of printing the background in that color.  Does that make sense?  but again it's just a matter of preference.  I think the design looks really nice!

I honestly think it depends on the feel you want to achieve. I really like both but the cream has a more vintage look while like Jen said the white has a crisp look (more clean and modern) in my opinion. Both look beautiful just depends on which theme better fits the rest of your wedding ideas. Also as Jen said, I would print on the color paper you choose to go with vs printing a color background ( if you do go with the creamy sand, use that color paper) or not only would you use a whole lot of ink but you may also run the risk of the color not being 100% even. Either way i think i would go with an aqua sleeve, but If you decide on the vintage creamy look I would use a cream colored ribbon to soften it for a closure... If you choose the white background, then I I would have a lime green ribbon to add some modern fun to the sleeve! I hth and I didn't confuse you further. Either way it's going to look beautiful Cathy!

  • What Jules said...

I would do cream/on cream paper (ink is expensive!), an aqua sleeve, and the cream ribbon. Have you checked out cardsandpockets? I think they have sleeves or something that can easily be a sleeve and you can order paper samples from them. I did our invites through them and they were super cheap.

  • They look really great Cathy!  You did an awesome job on the design!  They are so fun!

I think that I agree with Jen on the white paper - it looks crisper and the colors pop off the paper more!  The sleeve would look great in either color but I am leaning towards green to contrast the aqua a bit more!

  • Thanks ladies!!  Personally, I like the white and FI likes the sand color.  I think that if I did the sand, I would try to find paper that color somewhere.  I like the idea for the aqua sleeve and green accents.  I was also thinking about trying to find some shimmer paper.  That might be neat too.  Although it might be harder to match if we go with the sand color....

  • Knowing what I know of your wedding thus far and the details you've shared, I think the more modern, crisp look of the white fits better personally.

  • I think they look great! I would print them on the cream paper, too. They seem to pop more on that color.
  • I did the champagne color for mine that Jen suggested from paperandmore and I love it. My colors are coral and gold though so I felt it went better with my color scheme. Not sure if you have an Office Depot near you, but I know they actually had the same paper I got, so you could go in there and do two test prints to see what shows up better. I personally think the white, or even a pearlescent white would look better because the aqua and green would pop so much more. The invitations look soooo great!!
