G/B/U

Keeping with our DW traditions here is my Good, Bad, and Ugly:

Good:
It was all a really fun and great experience!  The food was amazing, the cake was DELICIOUS, I looked and felt like a princess, and my husband was a sexy devil ;)  We got in on Thursday, me and some friends went to dinner at Red Square, a Russian restaurant, and Paul went to dinner with his parents.  After being on a plane with them for 5hrs I couldn't bring myself to do dinner with those people.  The weather was absolutely perfect!  We actually got really lucky that it we had a cold front come through.  Neither H or myself sweat and my makeup stayed in place all day.  The couple that MIL insisted on inviting to the wedding were surprisingly cool.  They took us to see the Cirque show, Love.  It was amazing!  Highly suggest you see it.  I don't remember one night in Vegas, but apparently that's what's supposed to happen.

Bad:
If you guessed this is where MIL stories would be, you were right!!  I got MIL & FIL a room at my hotel the night before we left.  She asked the people at the desk if they know me.  Then told them that they were going to Vegas for their son's wedding.  My good friend actually said to her, "I think Lindsay's going to be there, too."  Apparently this went over like a fart in church.  The car we hired to take us from my hotel to the airport said they were going to be an hour late, minimum.  We told them to cancel it.  Thankfully this meant we had to take separate cars =) MIL got lost in the airport (Orlando and Vegas), pissed and moaned the entire freaking time about how she doesn't like to fly, can't figure it out, needs Paul to do everything for her.  I took a xanax and 3 cocktails on the way to the airport, poor H had to pretty much carry me onto the plane.  He then told me I was selfish and if anyone was taking a xanax I better give it to his mom.
the DJ absolutely SUCKED!  We all had a great laugh at how horrible he was.  When we woke up the next morning I told him his DJ sucked and he said, I know.  And we both started cracking up.  My cake made it to the reception with about 15min to spare, my mom was freaking out about this.

Ugly:
my dad's GF and Monster-in-law texted the ENTIRE FREAKING RECEPTION!!!!  My mom took many pictures of H's mom texting because there were so many opportunities and she was so involved in her phone she didn't even notice the camera.  My dad bolted after the ceremony and stuck my mom with the $300 limo bill as well as the entire reception bill.  Dad's GF said the reception was so-so and could have been better if she had been consulted.  She also talked the entire time of my bachelorette dinner about these stupid bows she makes and sells for $20+.  All she does is glue rhinestones to bows!  She talked about this for over an hour!!  The best part is the hotel that I stayed at the night before lost my dress!  I was screaming and crying at the desk that they had my dress and the girl was insisting they didn't.  A bellman walked by and heard my freak out and was all like, oh, I think I saw that in the back.  BRB!  I had my dress 5min later.

There are more stories about MIL and dad's GF but those are best for over cocktails and giggles

Glad you had fun despite all the meanness of your MIL. Maybe she was texting her friends and telling them how beautiful you looked ; ). Thank god you found your dress, what a bunch of idiots! And I absolutely love that you had to cancel the limo. Hehe!! Can't wait to see the rest of the pic, what I did see were great!

  • I'm glad you had a good experience!  I am sorry that you had to deal with so much stupid family drama though!

  • I cringe at the thought of the family drama. Maybe I should just expect a lot of drama and then hopefully it'll end up being less!

  • The good sounded great! I can't believe they misplaced your dress!! That would have made me go a bit insane! I'm glad you like LOVE by the Beatles, it was my favourite cirque show! And yay for nights you can't remember!

  • So when do we get to get drinks? I so need to hear these stories! You and I may just have to pour our own drinks and get on the phone with each other. I'm glad almost everything went well. I would have freaked about the dress if that happened to me. I probably would have punched the woman at the front desk before they had found the dress. Or called in Jenn with her ice scraper for back-up.
