For those of you that are making it legal before you go to your destination, when are you doing it/how long before you leave are you doing it?
I mainly ask because FI wants to do it TOMORROW, exactly 6 weeks before we get married in Mexico (it's also his birthday). I kinda feel like it's too early for it--like I'll have to do all my name changing and insurance changing and stuff in that timeframe (well at least the insurance stuff--changes on medical insurance have to be made within 30 days on FI's health insurance plan).
So, uh, yeah, I could be 'married' tomorrow--we're really trying to just look at it as filing the paperwork and our Mexican ceremony as our wedding, but having to do the insurance stuff and all that makes it seem a little more 'official.'
