I'm totally stuck on how to time our wedding. Our original plan was sunset ceremony, but due to other issues our date wound up later in the year than we were planning, and sunset is later than we'd hoped.
Note: Concerned about much earlier than 6 because of afternoon thunderstorms (and giving people the chance to have snorkel, fish, explore time). Sunset is at 8 on our date, the venue has gorgeous sunsets and the sky would be pretty from about 7-8 ... I'd prefer to not be feeding people during the pretty sky time.
option 1:
5:30-6 wedding
6-7whenever food
7-10 music
pros: feeding people early
cons: we miss out on sunset ceremony shots, but can take some after food. concerned a bit about late afternoon rainshowers (but 6 would make it a tad too late)
option 2:
7-8: Wedding, cocktails, passed hors d'oeuvres (ceremony itself will take about 10 minutes ...)
8-9ish: dinner
9-11: dancing and receptiony stuff
pros: we get sunsetish ceremony, guests can enjoy music, cocktails and sundown
cons: feeding people late (thus the food at 7)
Any insight? My invites are ready to go ... as soon as I commit to the time!
