Re: Confession Thursday!

  • I confess that I'm stuck in an all day workshop from 8am - 6pm and I'm not happy!!!

Also I confess that I'm a little upset with my daughter.  She has been going through a weird phase and has been cutting her hair herself.  First she cuf off half her hair (think half boy half girl) and that BUGGED me, but I suppose she was able to pull it off...then she decided she wanted to try to grow that out... I took her to the salon to get her hair cut/styled by a professional and to get highlights about 3 weeks ago.  That cost me about $80.  Then on Tuesday she cut off all her hair herself!!!!  She's 15, almost 16 and looks like a 4 year old cut her hair!  1) I'm pissed about the money I just spent... 2) I'm upset that she doesn't realize she's going to be in a ton of wedding pics in about 4 months and 3) What the hell is wrong with her!

I'm all for self expression...but come on already!...  lol

    That is all!

  • Oh Jen, I would be upset too! These kids don't think! Hopefully her hair will grow fast. When my dtr started wasting my money I made her pay me back for things but she has a job so she had the money. I actually had to sit her down with a calculator and told her how much I get paid, how much I pay for bills, gas, food etc so she could see what I had left to spend. This way she saw that she was wasting my money that I didn't really have. I think she understood a little better. I confess that Im annoyed with FI. He got a lower interest rate for his mortgage but the house needs to be appraised. He scheduled it for tomorrow morning. Well the house needs some major cleaning up before someone goes through the house and he went to a fire company meeting last night for 4 hours and took OT tonight so I'm left to clean the house. It's mostly his mess....he's a bit of a slob, but that's his only downfall.

  • So for Christmas, I asked my stepmom to take me shopping at Kohl's since we love that store.  We decided to go next Saturday hoping that there was still going to be a big sale.  Well she got a 30% off coupon but said that it expires on the Friday before we are supposed to go.  She left me her Kohl's credit card and a 30% off coupon and told me to go shopping during this week and that we would meet up later.  I guess my confession is that I feel really greedy because I want to go spend the money but I guess that I wanted part of my Christmas present to be spending time with her.  I am kinda torn...

The bright side for the Jen(n)'s...
    - Jen...at least she didn't shave her head.
    - Jenn...At least you are going to get things clean how you want them cleaned.

  • I confess that I am ready for this week to be over. I am ready for the weeekend where hopefully I can get some things done. I also confess that I am really annoyed with my WC in CR....I understand things are slow paced down there but it is really starting to bug me. GRRRRR

  • Ah Confession Thursday!

I must say that I am really not liking my job these days....I am bored beyond belief with the work I have to do as it isn't challenging at all. I watch the clock all day and the days drag on and on. I totally don't feel valued as an employee anymore. I am really smart and they don't recognize that or just don't care...and on top of that my boss is a schmuck and not the greatest mgr plus he identifies more with the rest of my team as they are technical programmers...they are like a clicque and they do everything together. I sometimes get the feeling that he also thinks not all of the rules apply to him....argh!

  • Cathy, can you go shopping before the sale ends and then do lunch when you had planned? Jess its amazing how rules never seem to apply to all!

  • I confess that I have slacked on the job all week because I have been doing wedding related research, emailing and knotting!  I can't wait for Friday and then it's a 3-day weekend, woohoo!! Guess I better get some work done today and tomorrow...

  • I confess that I've been super judgey lately. SUPER judgey. Like right now, I'm looking out of my office at some people and I'm judging them.
I've never been this catty or judgey before.

I also confess that I plan on being sick on Monday or Tuesday :)

I'll admit it I judge sometimes too and so does my FI.  :)  someone asked him one time if he was judging people and he came right out and said, "Yes I am judging those people."  It was hysterical!!

I confess that although I love my new job, I am looking forward to the long weekend just because its a long weekend! lol! We are heading north to visit with my family, so I get to spend it with my mother, her bf, my brother, his gf and my niece.

I confess that I was visiting a good friend/previous coworker last night and I realized that I enjoy hearing stories about how bad it is at my old work because it makes me even happier I got out of there (nothing like taking pleasure in someone else's misery).

I also confess that I recently ran into a previous coworker of mine from the military days. After talking with her for awhile I have spent most of the week SERIOUSLY second guessing my choice to leave the military... I know that's not where I see my future, and I thought I'd let go of it awhile ago, but its suddenly become this big deal for no reason :(

I also confess that I am so sick of working on wedding stuff and just want to be DONE with it already.
  • Oh I like this idea of Confession Thursday!!

    Here it goes!!

I confess that I also want this week to be over FI is working night shift on base this week (Military) and I really really hate being along at night. I never get a good night sleep. I am always up till 2am before my body just shuts down and passes out. Our little girl is then up at 8am and FI sleeps till 3pm we have dinner he goes back to sleep again and then off to work.

I also confess that we recently just purchased a Belgium Malinos puppy thats what FI does for a job he trains K9s for the airforce and thought he would like one of his own here. I agreed cause I thought durning night shifts or when he is training that I would feel safer being in the house alone. But I HATE the puppy stage. She is driving me insane I am running on very little sleep by the time FI gets up I am ready to go to bed!!

I also Confess that this weekend we are going to spend time with FI family and friends and tell them about our engagement and plans for a DW in Jamaica. I am VERY nervous of everyones reaction. We have not told anyone yet as we wanted to do it in person. I have told my whole family and everyone was very supportive but something tells me is going to be alittle different on his side. We live in Holland and his side culture does not do DW like North Americans. I am Canadian moved to Holland, so I am very used to DW wedding!. I will keep everyone posted

  • Oops. That was supposed to say good luck telling everyone! I hear ya about night shift. My FI used to work the late shift and I could never sleep until he got home. I was getting like 4 hours of sleep every night. He then bought a security system and now he's back to days.

  • I 2nd wanting to see a picture!

I confess that I deleted my guet list by accident.  I almost lost my mind!  I had a rough draft, but about 10 people weren't on there and I had to ask everyone for their addresses again.  I also took away FI's wedding task of making the music playlist for the reception.  TK is eff-ing crazy with their "Give the groom a job" articles.

I hate my job and told my boss that I'm only here until something gets built nearby because I'm too lazy to drive.  Then walked out of his office.  Looking back it probably wasn't my smartest move, but I really really hate working for a hotel.

  • Ok so since my daughter doesn't really like pics, these are the best I could get...  use your imagination.... lol

Here is how she looked less than a year ago before she started messing with the scissors:

    then the weirdness started:

Then the first haircut...  She is the one in the middle with the white dress:

And then now, really can't see in the pic, but just imagine the above pic with the other side chopped off...ignore the goofy face:

I can only hope and pray that her hair grows and can be styled cute for the wedding :(

Thanks for listening to me moan and groan...  I try to let my daughter be her own person and learn from her mistakes, but I just wish she would listen to me...  Luckily it's only hair and it will grow back...lol....

  • I confess that even though I like the fact FI has finally decided to hit the gym with the guys and get himself back in shape, I don't like his neediness (is that a word- he's needy!) when he gets home.  Last night I had a meeting and it was at a restaurant.  I told him to fend for himself.  So he gets home 15 min before me, I get home at 8:20 or so and he asks "what's for dinner?"  I said "I told you I had a meeting, and I told you to fend for yourself."  He wanted me to cook him something so I told him "Well you're shitt outta luck, I already told you yesterday AND this morning.  Your choices are: Banana, Orange, English Muffin, or whatever YOU want to cook.  I'm NOT cooking!"

I'm afraid tonight might be the same kind of thing.  I'm running to town after work, then going home and adding up all of his 2011 receipts for his tax appt tomorrow.  I will not be cooking!
(speak of the devil- phone just started ringing and it's him asking about dinner!)

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  • I confess that I'm not too happy about my shower/stagette this weekend.  My MOH (my best friend) is planning everything and keeping everything a secret from me.  One other friend spilled a couple of beans that we're going to a pottery shop where you paint pottery (plates, vases, sculpture thingies, etc.) and then their seal it or something and you take it home later.  I've been once before for another friends stagette.  I love my MOH, and I know I have no right to complain cos she's under no obligation to throw one, and she's trying to do things she thinks I will like, but I am so not creative, and I have painting blank things cos I never know what to do with it.  I'm dreading that I'm going to end up with a bunch of random painted pottery stuff in the house.  She has a bad habit of doing things (events, gifts) that she thinks I will like cos she does, but really it's not my thing.  I am looking forward to seeing her though, and the rest of the day.

  • Jen~ What a cutie! At least it's not god awful, but should grow a bit by then. My dtr went and dyed her lite brown w/ blonde high lighted hair to a dark dark brown w some red in it. I flipped because she was supposed to just dye it back to her original lite brown color, she didn't want the blonde highlites. I'm mad because we will be getting her senior pics in June and there's no way that color will be grown out by then, her hair is long. Now I will have to pay and have it professionally dyed back. I swear kids don't think long term. I wouldn't mind, cause like you I let her be her own person, but I wanted her senior pics to have her normal hair color in them.

  • Jen- I actually think it works for her! However, I told him daughter your story and then told her i would kill her if she cut her hair off before the wedding. :)
