When to start tanning?

I'm actually against tanning for the sake of tanning, but since we're getting married in November on St John USVI and staying there for a week afterwards I'd like to get a base tan so I don't get burnt.  Our wedding is November 6, 2010 - when should I start tanning?

You can probably start tanning whenever you would like.  A month before sounds pretty good though.

LOL...I'm in the same situation...however, my FI jokes that when we get married he'll have no idea where I end and my dress starts as I'm soooo pale.  I plan on starting about September so that way I have 2 months to get some color on my skin!

I'm planning on going sometime in mid November for my 12/31 wedding. But I am super pale and really have to go slowly when I tan. It's going to take me awhile!

Thanks ladies!  I can't believe I only have TWO MONTHS to go!  I'm kinda freaking out with so much left to do.
