No Excitment?

So with less than 3 months to go I'm so not all "wedding excited". Anyone else like this? I thought maybe once I got the invites out things would get rolling but they are not. Travel plans are being worked out, dress should be here soon, RSVPs are coming back but I'm just not feeling it. If anything I'm annoyed by the whole process.

FMIL is always checking if so and so's invite was sent (yes they were all sent, its the week of xmas - mail is slow), I can't stand planning the AHR (which is where FI family lives) and I haven't done half the things needed. I just told my sister not to worry about a shower - I don't have many close GF's and those I do have are spread out. BM gifts? Pain. Welcome bags? Don't want to deal with it. FI and GM have nothing to wear yet. I really just want to go to Mexico, get this all over with and spend a week doing nothing at the resort with my FI.

Thanks for letting me get all that out...hopefully this too shall pass.

Re: No Excitment?

  • I had zero excitement leading up to the wedding. I was just OVER it.

    You're not alone :D
  • Ha - I know what you mean! I think it's just because there is SO much that you had to do and think of, people are always asking a million questions, etc. that you just want it to BE here. I think the excitement will come back at some point, but I would just forget about it all temporarily and enjoy the holidays!

  • I feel your pain.  I love Matt and can't wait to be his wife but since being informed that his freaking parents can't be bothered to come I just feel like poo.  Right now it's my parents and 2 of our friends that we met in Mexico two years ago who are from NY.  None of our "close" friends (those we've known a long time) have RSVPd yet so I'm holding out hope but it's not looking good.  I feel like with only 4 people coming we should have just said "fvck it" and eloped to Vegas.

I'm sure once I get over the hurt/upset of his parent's not being there I'll be good.  ANd I have my fitting for my dress on Wednesday of next week.  I think putting my dress on for the first time in a few months will make me feel better ;-)

Hang in there.  I think putting your dress on will help.  We BOTH need to remember that this is about us and our FI's.  Not about anyone else!  In the end there are only two people that matter on that day ;-)
  • A LOT of people go through that feeling! A friend of mine that just got married (I was helping with all the DIY stuff) was DONE with the whole concept of planning like 4 months before her wedding lol
  • I think that the excitement will come back like everyone said.  Just get through the holidays and I'm sure things will get better.  The holidays can take alot out of you.

  • Ohhh you are SOOO not alone!  I'm in the exact same boat.  I just want it to get here so that I can move on with my life!!  I'm dreading the rest of the planning now that I'm at the point where it's really just detail stuff that needs to be done - aka stuff I DREAD!

Hang in there girl... I'm sure it'll all be worth it in the end! :)

  • Hey!
I think you're probably at that stage where you're tired of all the planning and ready to get married. I'm planning a destination wedding, and I just started...and I'm already ready to be done!

Step awayfor a minute, and take some non-wedding time with your fiance.
