For those of you that had AHRs

Did you include AHR info with your wedding invites or did you send it separately?

Did you ask people to RSVP to the AHR?

If so, did you use one response card for both the wedding and the AHR or two?

Re: For those of you that had AHRs

  • You mail separate invitations. Yes, we did RSVPing. Since you need to send separate invitations, you should have separate RSVPs, too.
  • Thanks for the response!

F/U question: Would it be odd or inappropriate to put a STD for the AHR with the regular invite before sending out the AHR invite?  We're planning on pocketfolds, so it would be super easy to include an extra insert.  I don't want people to feel obligated to spend as much time/money travelling if they'd rather do one over the other, but part of me feels like it would be a bit weird having it in there.  Otherwise, it could go under misc. information on our wedding website and be spread via WOM easy enough.

  • We sent out wedding invitations that we didn't need rsvp's for since everyone going had already booked with our travel agent.  For AHR we did a inviation and an rsvp card.

  • I might be a weirdo, but I just included a card with AHR info with the invitations.  The RSVP card includes "Will attend ceremony in Mexico" "Will celebrate in hometown" and "Unable to attend."  I didn't want to deluge my friends and family with separate invites -- and have to track that many RSVPs -- since the guest list is exactly the same for both events.
  • I would include it in the DW invitation or STD, that way people know they have the option.
