Not having many bridesmaids?

Hey-
I was wondering if anyone is in the same situation as myself...since we are having a destination wedding, we were not going to have a big bridal party...just a best man, matron of honor and maid of honor. One of my good friends is having a hard time with it. I told her I still want her to be a part of my planning, dress shopping, etc and i want her to feel important. I was going to put a 'job' for her on my website to make her feel like she is part of my day. She said she would like to be an honorary bridesmaid but I wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas or had the same situation? Thanks!

We're having 4 gals and 4 guys.....but we didn't label anyone "Best Man" or "MOH" or anything like that.  They're just the bridal party and each and everyone of them mean just as much to us as the others do so we decided to have everyone stand up there without titles!

We didn't have a BP at all.  My close friends were my honorary BP.  They did everything BMs would typically do, just didn't stand up with me.  Maybe you could have her sign your marriage license.  That's what my BFF did.

We just have a Best Man and MOH. If you are having a relatively small wedding it just doesn't make sense to me to have a huge bridal party.

No offense, but your friend sounds pretty pushy. This is not her decision to make and she should understand why you would want to keep it small. It's not like you are singling her out because you don't like her.

Do you not want her to be a BM b/c of the small wedding or because you're not close with her? You say she's a good friend. She does sound pushy, but maybe she just feels left out.
I'm not having a WP. We're having a bestman but only b/c it was really important to him (FIs bro) and we're not having him stand or anything.

We're just having my sister and his brother stand with us.  You could always ask her to be your personal attendant.  I like the idea of asking her to sign the marriage license too.

I'm not having a bridal party at all anymore. I have 2 of 3 original bridesmaids coming to Jamaica with me, and another friend who has been hinting about wanting to be in the wedding in place of my original bridesmaid who can't make it.  But the only guy coming is our best man. We just thought it would be easier on everyone if we didn't have a bridal party at all. We only have 12 people coming with us down there anyway, and that way no one feels left out or not as important as anyone else.

thanks for all the help girls! i gave her a special job that will mean a lot to me in my wedding. both of my parents have passed away within the past 10 years so she will be reading a poem (or something) in honor of them. She knew them both when we were younger so it means a lot to her too. it all worked out well!
