Destination Weddings Discussions

Mexico Destination

Hello All;

I am new to this forum, I just decided after 6 months of being engaged that I want to do a destination wedding in Mexico.  I am having some issues with how to plan, how to find the perfect resort, etc.

I am invited about 100 people but I think only about 40 will show up.  Which is perfect.  I want a resort that is not too expensive that my guest can afford but that also offers a reasonable wedding package.

I am thinking Dreams in Puerto Vallarta, but i do not think they have a disco and I want to be able to have dancing.  Or in Tulum.

Re: Mexico Destination

  • Welcome and congrats. I've never been to Puerto Vallarta only to Cancun and Cabo so I don't have much advice. I do know that mostnof the ladies book there weddings/ travels with beach bum vacations. We have a few Mexico brides from past and present so I'm sure they can help you. Good luck with your plans!

  • i get married there, the Disco is not like a nightclub music is a little lame and it can not be private, after the wedding party as many other hotels they invite you to move your party there ...until 1 am...

    BBV as far as i know they are more like sandals not Dreams Resorts Experts...

    i will love to give you some advices,

  • I am not a Mexico bride, just wanted to stop in to say Welcome to the board and Congratulations! I hope that you stick around and tell us all about your planning :)
  • I am now looking into Marival Resorts and Suties.  Dreams did not have the two dates i wanted.  Have you heard of them.  I have contacted Beach Bums for travel help for guest.  They are working on my request.

    I contacted Marival and read good reviews.  They do have a night club, but they also have a private event option for 30 dollars a person, including the DJ.  This is what I was going to use for after my dinner party, kind of like a post two hour cocktail party on the patio.  They also do not have a set amount of people for dinner like Dreams.

    It's just so hard because I want to give my guest the best resort since they are paying to travel.  The coordinator at Dreams said the Disco is more of a sports bar.
