Question on Tanning

I'm going to start tanning soon... I want to build up a tan for my B-pic shoot in April. 
Maybe this is TMI.. and I hope I'm not the only one with this issue, but in the past when I have gone tanning there is always a patch above my booty that doesn't tan! It's not noticeable when I have a bathing suit on, and I don't know if it's from laying in the tanning bed, but it's pretty annoying. 

So I have 2 questions... 1) is there a way to prevent that and other "tan" lines (creases and such?) and 2) this may be a question for my photog, but if there are spots like that would you think the photog would edit them in the final picture?

LOL I have a spot on my sides like right by my boobs that doesn't tan and it was pissing me off!  I tried to just switch up how I was laying on the bed to avoid tan lines and like held my arms up lol.  I know that stand up beds are better for tan lines, but are a lot more expensive.  It might be worth it though.  Otherwise I say to just try and move around a bit in the bed so you are not laying the same way the whole time...

I have that same spot. It's a circle at the top of my a**crack lol. There's lotion called sun spots that you can buy but I just try to move a little when I think half my time is up. That way it tans. I haven't looked to see if it's there but I will next time I go.

You have to move in the bed. You can't stay in one place the whole time. I use to be a big tanner. Bad, I know. But,  I lived in Cali so what do you expect? I would tan 20 minutes with 5 minutes on  my back, 5 minutes on my front and 5 minutes on each side with my arms up. Didn't get any places that wouldn't tan or weird tan lines doing this.

Have you thought about a spray tan? I got one done for my HS prom and it was great. Lasted almost 2 weeks. I am sure technology with them has improved in the last 8 years.

So I used to tan before every summer and sometimes in the winter and I NEVER thought about moving around in the bed...lol.. Good info to know.

Nicole... I have thought about spray tan... but I'm afraid of the color and streaking...  I go to a water aerobics class every week and I'm not sure if the chlorine will affect it.  Also, I want to tan before I leave for DR too... I'm just afraid to try something new I guess...lol

I just started tanning this week for our wedding in Mexico (we leave the end of April) and I haven't been in so long!! But I do remember I would get a stripe or two on my bum and backs of my thighs so my friend told me at the end of the session (like 2-3 mins left to open the bed and sit up (your legs out the side) so the bulbs are no longer running parallel to your body) and that got rid of my stripes.

Hahah I get that too!! I always move around in the bed a bit (but am always too nervous to go on my front because I'm not the most coordinated person).

I am tanning for the wedding and the place I go advised me to do the stand up booth for more even tanning. I was concerned about my face getting too tan so they told me just to put SPF on my face and lotion everywhere else.

If your salon has the standups you might want to try it

I just move positions. Lay on my back half the time and my stomach the other half. And I lay with my arms over my head usually.

Since I am a photographer I can answer this question for ya!  Absolutely they can touch up that spot and you will never even know it existed.   PhotoShop is a wonderful thing!!!
