Welcome to all the new DW Brides!!!

I am starting to see a few new faces around here, so I just want to welcome all the newer girls that are starting to come out to the DW board.
If you haven't already introduced yourself (or even if you had) please feel free to reply to this and let us know who you are :) Maybe just a little about yourself and/or where you are planning to get married :)

I sort of rambled about my wedding plans here:  http://destination.weddings.com/main.aspx/wedding-theme-boards_destination-weddings_this-count-dw-totally-weirdrude

I'm in my first year of an MA in Physical Education, FI is in his fourth year of a BA in Business (Accounting), and on Wednesday, we'll have been together for one year. We met at work (lifeguards at a private club) and bonded over tennis (sneaking onto the courts late at night after closing!)

I was born in Canada, but grew up in West Africa and have also spent time living in Australia and the Philippines. FI is from Venezuala (came to Canada at age 14), and his dad is Nepalese. We've got a nice mix of cultures going on, and want to honour them into our wedding celebration!
  • Kip -- our anniversary is on Tuesday! :) Welcome to the board! Can't wait to hear more about your plans.

  • Welcome to all of the new DW brides! We've had so many go off and get married lately that it's nice to have you all here and get the board moving, again!
  • I've been on here for a couple weeks now and many of you have posted on my messages so your familiar to me, but I've never properly introduced myself.

My name is Kim. I'm from southwest Michigan. I am an assistant teacher for a HeadStart preschool classroom. I am currently working on getting my Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, but its not moving along very fast because I've changed my mind on being a teacher. I like my job and I like what I do, but I don't want to be the one in charge.

My finace is a CNC Machinist at a very succesful company. He is currently 3rd shift but is training for someone to take his place so he can move to first (I'm very excited about him being home with me at night).  We have been together for just over 4 years.

Im looking forward to getting to know all of you!

I am a Canadian with a strong family background of Scottish and Irish (at the level of my grandparents). Fi's parents came over from Yugoslavia and his family is still strongly Slavic in a lot of their traditions. :) I definitely know the fun of including the different cultures, makes everything so interesting!
  • Yay to the new DW brides!!! Cant wait to get to know everyone!

    Hi everyone,
My name is Rhonda.  I live in Northern BC, Canada.  I am a 45 year old who is eloping and getting married for the second time in Hawaii on Feb 7th, 2012. I have 2 daughters and 1 son.  I also have 4 granddaughters and another grandchild due March 1st.
I am currently a CGA student and work full time in an accounting office.  I started university the same time as my oldest child but have had some medical issues so am working on it at a slower pace.  My fiance is a maintenance supervisor on the graveyard shift at a local sawmill.  I agree with the PP that the night shift sucks!
I also just want to say how much I have enjoyed talking to all the other brides on the site!

  • Hi! I've posted a few times here, but usually dabble more in the DIY board.

My name is Jessica I work in Accounting.  My FI and I met in college and have been together 3.5 years.  We're getting married this summer in Virginia, we're both from different parts of the country so we decided that would be best for us.  I was very timid with the whole planning, but I'm really getting into it now.

I bought my dress this weekend and I'm working on getting the courage up to sew my bridesmaids dresses!  I'm really excited that things are starting to get more fun with planning and I think these boards have really helped me!
  • Love hearing everyone's stories :) Can't wait to see posts from each of you as you continue to make progress in your planning! FYI, the girls here LOVE to hear all about the choices you make, and LOVE pictures lol
  • I've also posted a time or two but I don't know if I really introduced myself.  I'm Erin and I live in Nashville, TN.  I currently work in sports with a Bowl game and a sports commission.  We are getting married next Sept. at Dreams PuntaCana.  Right now is a crazy time for me at work so not a lot of wedding planning is going to get done until after the new year.  I jumped on the boards at work this afternoon for a quick break from everything.  I do event planning for a living so you would thing that planning a wedding would come a little easier to me but I feel completely lost.  Can't wait to learn some tips and tricks from you all!
