Laugh or Cry? (kind of long)

Hi ladies, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Let me start by saying that my little boy turned 6 on Friday!!!  I can't believe that he's getting to be a "big boy" already.  Now to the events of Saturday afternoon.  We got a puppy the first of the year, so far he's been great.  We've been easing into leaving him out while we're out of the house.  We've been following our puppy trainers instructions, 20 minutes for 2 weeks, 30 minutes for 2 weeks, etc.  Well, he made all the way to 1 hour for 1 week, Saturday being the start of week 2.  We left to go to Best Buy and the grocery store.  Came home to a dining room full of half eaten palm fans and OOT bags Cry.  Yes, I shed a tear, then laughed a little 'cause he was sitting there super excited to see us return home.  I thought I had the box out of reach!?!  I am now on the hunt for more fans and bags and hope that I can get the same ones that I ordered before~

  • Oh Laugh.  That sound like something that would happen to us.  Our 2 year old lab pit mix has major seperation anxiety and we often come home to find destruction.  He knows he's in trouble and when he hears the door open, runs right to his crate to hide.  We've learned to close all doors and leave nothing out when we leave.

  • I have a baby golden... 2 actually... they are 8 months old. The girl got my veil and completely tore it to shreds. I cried about it at first but then quickly realized well... what can I do? The damage had already been done. So I just called the bridal store the next day and ordered another one.

I feel ya though!! Puppies are a mess but oh so adorable at the same time. How can you stay mad at them when they give you that "look"? :)

Sorry to hear about what happened but everything will still come together in the end!
  • Oh boy....definitely have to laugh!

Our pup is 10 months old and I don't foresee leaving him out of his crate when we aren't home for a very, very long time.  I just don't want to risk him destroying something in the house, or worse, him getting into something that will make him sick.
  • As a dog trainer-I say Laugh-as frustrating as this can be, you will look back years from now and laugh.  They don't MEAN to cause you frustration, but they are essentially TODDLERS!  They LOVE you too much and get sooo upset when we leave them!

I hope you find all you need to!  :)
