Am I losing my mind?

hey ladies,

I'm starting to lose my mind... I've been looking online for jewelry to match my girls dresses and for myself as well and am I crazy or are the prices absolutely ridiculous? I'm starting to think maybe I could make what I want for my girls... Am I crazy for thinking that? Does anyone on here make jewelry or ever have, is it really difficult? I'm not looking for anything crazy, honestly just a gold chain with a few crystal beads hanging... Something simple. I'd have to learn how to create the loop for the crystals, but I think I can... Ahhh what do you think?

  • I have a few friends that make a lot of their own jewelry!! We have several local beads shops in Victoria, and they carry chains, clasps and the sales reps are always happy to help showing how to put things together. The internet also has a lot of helpful tips on how to creating necklaces & earings.

I say go for it, I am planning on doing the same thing.... as I don't want to spend a fortune having something custom made or trying to find what I want without it breaking my budget.

    You can do it :)

  • If you can make your own I would def do it ! My friend made all my bridesmaid's jewelry & barefoot sandals. I am giving it to them as part of their gift.

Maybe splurge on yourself if you can...having pretty jewelry is more important for the bride heehee.

  • I made my own jewelry. You can do it! Find a local jewelry store and play around with things there. I know my local shop has some classes which are very helpful to beginners. My SIL made the necklaces for her wedding also. She definitely isn't a crafty person. At the shop she went to, the owner had hours where she would sit down with people who bought supplies there and help teach them how to make whatever they wanted.

  • I know the Joanne's and Micheal's stores by my house actually have free jewelry making classes, if there's one by you maybe you could call and ask if they offer the something similar :)
