Attire?

So, with the uncertainty on what to wear to FI's cousin's beach wedding in two weeks, it has brought up the point that maybe we should include a tab on our website just kind of explaining attire just to clarify if there are any questions (although I don't mind if people wear jean shorts to the wedding, lol)

Did anyone put this on their website just to give their guests direction?  If so, how did you word it?

TIA!

Re: Attire?

  • I wrote beach elegant, defined as "ladies in summer cocktail attire with flat sandals or wedge heels, and gentlemen in light slacks and button down tops with flip flops encouraged".
  • We included a short rhyme that let people know we weren't worried about their attire and to come however they'd be comfortable.  My dad actually wrote it so I had to give him props by using it.

  • We didn't include anything on our site and really no one has asked.  Not gonna lie I would be appalled if someone wore blue jean shorts. :)  But I don't like them in general.

I don't think it would hurt to add a little something.  I can see where I would wonder what to wear to a beach wedding as well.  I like Michaela's definition.

I would be appalled if someone wore blue jean shorts to a cookout in my backyard let alone a wedding, haha. I HATE jean shorts, I just think they look so white trash. Does that make me a b*tch?

Haha, not at all!  I just know that they're out there (my moms redneck boyfriend wears them, but he's a great a guy--but the typical redneck lol).  And I'm all for comfort!

When I asked FMIL about my dress for this wedding her reply was "Anything will look lovely as long as it doesn't have holes"

I had a pair of holey jeans that she absolutely HATED! :)

Im copying this.  as long as its ok with you, of course.

I just had a rant about this last week.  Several people were asking if they could wear shorts.  And Im like, really?  I know its in Bermuda, but have you people never been to a friggin wedding before?!  No you cant wear shorts.  No you cant wear jeans.  Its a wedding, not a kegger!  I told people if the didnt understand what beach elegant was, they should utilize the google machine.    I think maybe a little addendum on the site would be helpful.  hahaha.
  • Jean shorts = JORTS.

Jorts = my definition of bad fashion.

lol. Frayed jorts are even worse!
